For attending a time share seminar, we were awarded with a all inclusive vacation to Mexico. We filled out all the paperwork on time (a feat in and of itself - lots of fine print) and submitted a $200 refundable deposit (refunded upon completion of the trip), and on June 24, 2008 were confirmed via email to be traveling to Puerto Vallarta.

We were supposed to receive our airline tickets 60 days prior to traveling. Once we were within the 60 day window and did not have tickets, I began attempting to communicate with them, and all the sudden the rules changed. We were told that we now needed to pay $300 airline taxes (not part of our terms and services), we were told that we were not traveling on the date they told us, we were told we needed to give them our credit card number and in the event we were unable to travel we would be charged for the tickets. They were expecting us to commit to an unknown travel date and the penalty would be they would charge us for the airline tickets.

We just found out we won't be traveling, we've been given telephone number after telephone number on a wild goose chase, telephone calls are not returned, and it seems that every email back from them has something new that we haven't done that we weren't told we needed to do.

Their activity has been fraudulent (classic bait and switch) and is a breach of contract. I'm afraid that we won't get our initial deposit back because we didn't travel (not due to our fault).

So far, we have had contact with the following people attempting to resolve this:
initial sales person: Tania Garza Vasquez
Manager: Dani Raper
Manager: Marcy Wolf

The latest is that they will exchange our vacation for another one that doesn't include airfare and isn't an all inclusive package - not close to an even exchange.

I am hoping that they make this right, and will update this if they do.

Thank you for the opprotunity to respond to this person's complaint.
Mexico Paradise Getaways (MPG) is souly responsible for the fulfillment of the certificate in question. (Paragraph 13 of the Terms and Conditions) MPG is not regulated nor are they at the discression of Global Travel Group; they are an independant company that has their own set of "terms and conditions".
I personally worked with "David" to try to get his situation resolved. MPG did require information that "David" did not provide thus his reservation was not completed. MPG is in fact returning his deposit to him; "David" was informed of this information.
Bait and switch is not what is going on here...an offer to replace a certificate that "David" did not provide all the required documentation on was offered as a "good will gesture" not a bait and switch. Global Travel Group is not required to replace certificates that are voided out due to non-compliance issues. An attempt to assist as well as an offer to provided an alternate certificate was made by Global Travel Group to "David".
