First called up Kelly to rent the wave runners. I specifically asked what year the vehicles were. He completely avoided the question and said that his wave runners were all in excellent condition.
I ended up renting from him. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt even though all of his vehicles looked like they came from the dump.
Upon first starting the vehicle in the water, it was immediately clear that it had no power at all. It took 30-60 seconds to reach maximum speed (maybe 25 MPH). I was told by Kelly it would easily hit 50 MPH (interesting, the speedometer was broken). I called him immediately about the problem. He said to change the spark plugs, clear the impeller, and change it from reserve to main fuel. I did that, and the performance did not improve. I called several more times to his office, but got no answer at all. Since we didn't want to ruin the day (it was my sister's anniversary with 4 kids) we decided to make the best of it. (We would have driven back to get another one, but he never answered the phone).
On Monday, he claimed the vehicle was in excellent condition and ignores the possibility that his wave runner is less than perfect and will not refund any amount.
This guy is a complete ripoff. Everything out of his mouth is completely slanted. Don't do business with him at any cost!

This customer Did rent a waverunner and take it to the lake as he stated. He paid rental fees and rental insurance to cover the machine if anything was to happen to it. During there trip he called and said the machine lost power and was extremelly mad. After he returned equipment he natarually wanted a full refund. He was told we would find out what happenned and make a decision at that time.
Within 3 days he had complained to everyone he could think of INCLUDING THIS ADD. We found that he sucked a rock up in the impeller and caused impeller and pump housing damage. Because he had purchased the rental insurance Golden Rentals offers to its customers only. He was not charged for damages, it was coverd with the insurance. He still demanded a refund. As a peace maker Golden Rentals gave him half of his fees back. Just to end his little battle he started. He failed to add this information to his ripp off report. That we did settle with him. For your own knowledge. I recommend that you purchase insurance we offer. Waverunners are one of the hardest things to rent. Because of water damage to engines, rocks in impellers and they have no brakes.
We have been renting SKI BOATS, WAVERUNNERS, ATVS, SNOWMOBILES FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS. No one in this valley has been renting these types of machine that long. Experience helps a lot. I a have a saying. We try to keep everyone happy. If I cant? It is because it is impposible to keep every person happy, but we try.
