Don't Fall Victim to the

"US Government Grants Department"

It was today, at around 1 in the evening when I recieved a Phone call from the "US Government Grants Department"., I was greeted By a "Jay" who congratulated me that I had qualified for a government grant on $9,200.

Then I thought for a moment, Why not 10,000$? or even 100K?, Jay assured me that it was $9,200, and that they were not trying to take my money.

Alrighty, "jay", So then, Don't government officials, usually disclose their goverment worker Number?

And for that matter, wasn't this section of the Government, Closed?

According to "jay", ' Not all departments were closed, he assured me that this one was still active.

As I continued to probe him, I went on to ask him, "so Jay, where exactly are you calling from"?

He told me that he was calling from Virginia, But to add to my doubts even further, the caller ID on my Home Phone showed some cell Number in Ohio. So when I asked Him about it, He Hung up, He did call back again,

Thru it all, he sounded like an individual of Middle eastern Decent, and tried to make verify my information.

I would'nt give in, as a result, he then threatened me that " I had Insulted a Goverment Official, and as such, that they would come and visit me Personally."

Oh really?, so then, if you have that information already, Why in the world do you need me to verify it?

According to "Jay", that in order to do so, I would recieve a Confirmation code, and then I would need to call another Number with the Prefix (202) area code , and give the Operator the code provided by "jay".

My curiosity got the best of me, so I called that other number, and someone with a Heavy Philipino accent answered, then he proceded to ask that I would initially need to send $230 To secure my "Us Government grant"

Once again, I asked this Other Individual, why didnt he disclose his Government ID first?, I also went on to say that Posing as a Government Official or Entity is a serious crime, this made him Extremely upset, and Hung up.

For anyone who is Reading this: If anyone calls From the US Goverment Grants department;

DO NOT-

  • Give out your name
  • Disclose information of you residence
  • Don't offer to send any money

Although they are extremely Persistent Trying to convince me that they are Indeed Government Officials, I am not completely convinced. I don't know How to make them stop calling me, Hence which is why I am posting here.

I sincerely Hope I have aided others, in avoiding getting scammed from your hard-earned money.
