My purpose is to point out several "red flag" items that concern me to some lengths. I felt it was necessary to mention some of these things to the general public in hopes it may help you make an educated decision later.
The premise was to fill out an online contact form to find out about the dating service. Contact from sales was prompt, I deferred and was contacted back again. I made an appointment to see what they had to offer. 2 hours after my appointment, I was signed up for the dating service.
Here are the items to be concerned about:
1) The sales rep contacted me via a hotmail email address (anonymous)
2) The business card I received didn't have a last name and the email address was invalid as I could not send them any emails. (bounced - no such user)
3) They used high pressure sales tactics - insistant, constantly renegotiating price and remind you why you need a date/mate..."nobody wants to die old and alone".
4) Large difference in initial price/offer than what was negotiated. Makes you wonder if they overprice to see what they can get.
5) They offer you a line of credit to pay for the membership if you don't have enough to cover the cost.
6) They say they do a credit and background check on all members. I suspect the credit check was for their purposes (score = $$) and I doubt they do background checks because I was signed up before they checked mine (if they even checked it).
7) They tack on additional "fees" for photos and internet service.
8) Most all of their paperwork reads " no refunds ", and you can't disclose the price you paid for membership or it gets cancelled.
9) The reps signature was indescript/illegible/unreadable.
10) You're provided a preview of members but unaware if they're available or "frozen" (unavailable).
I'm discouraged that I may have been swindled out of my hard earned money. All the warning signs are there, but I guess I'm just a "gullable single". I'm going to make the best of it now. I hope this will be a warning to others.
