I attended a seminar in San Antonio , Tx for a " full service travel agency". I paid $4995.00 for this service so that I could take advantage of discount prices when traveling. I was told there would be no black out dates.
I was also told that they had great all inclusive vacations with, air, hotel and food to Cancun Mexico for $895.00 p/p. When I called about a week later to take advantage of this deal I gave them availability dates in March 2012 thru Julu 2012. Nothing could be found in all of those months for that price but I could get a trip to some where in Cancun for about $3000.00 per couple. Not what I was promised and shown on the slide show presentation.
I tried to cancel this transaction thru Great Getaways and they would not cooperate....I looked to my credit card company and they could not help me due to the large $ transaction amount. I am now in the process of working with an attorney to get my $4995.00 back. I do not have that kind of money " to throw out the window" . I will not stop until I get this matter resolved. I won't hesitate to show up at the future presentations to let the new guest know that this is a BIG RIPOFF... Beware..

They are a scam
AUTHOR: Mackey - (USA)

I worked for this company for a few months and at first believed them, then all of my customers started complaining and I was embarrassed to find that all of their complaints were true. They insisted they could get better prices online by themselves and to my horror, they were right.
Every time they were offered a price quote and I went online to confirm their allegations I found that I could beat the price given to them myself. Last minute resort weeks that were guaranteed to not be more than $199-$499 was a bald faced lie. I saw hundreds of weeks at 30 days notice or less priced over $1000 per week. There was a week in California, that was priced at $5700.
I was so embarrassed I had to find other work. The people in the rebuttal that said they were mistaken at first said that to get their money back and that is the only reason. I know because I was there when this happened. The week I left there was 2 separate instances were people were picketing the office for the same reason. I wanted no part of that and neither do you.

Update on Great Getaways Travel

I just wanted to follow up on a complaint that I had posted on 4/27/2012 in reference to Great Getaways Travel. I wanted the public to know that I followed up and met with representatives personally on 4/28/2012 at their office in San Antonio Tx.
I am pleased to announce that my husband and I were able to work out the issues we were previously encountering with this all inclusive travel company. They were able to sit down with us and help identify the problems and how they could be fixed. The VP and his wife have helped us resolve this dilemma and all of the concerned parties are happy with the outcome. Many thanks to Great Getaways Travel to take the time to personally listen to it's customers and help resolve their issues.

Great Getaways Rebuttal
AUTHOR: Project Director Great Getaways - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Friday, April 27, 2012
This is a rebuttal from Great Getaways concerning the allegations that his person has made in refference to them not being serviced or not getting the services we provide to our customers. After some research we find that the particular trips this person is reffering to are available and available at the prices we quoted. We have not been contacted by this person to clarify their concerns nor have they identified themselves on this site. We have and always will, provide the very best deals available on the market through our group buying power and take offense at anyone suggesting we are some sort of rip off or making untrue, undocumented allegations about our services. If they would like to contact our office and allow us to service them, they would find that everything we say either in our presentation or in conversations with our representatives is current and accurate. We would also encourage anyone with interest in travel to check us and our program out www.thegreatgetaways.com We find it unfortunate that people are allowed to make innaccurate and false statements about a company without some sort of accountability, however that is what this forum on the internet allows.
Sincerely,
PD Great Getaways Travel
