Guardsman furniture warranty Buyer beware. Another warranty company that won't pay for repairs Nationwide

Do your research. My wife and I purchased some nice furniture from Ashley Furniture in Oxnard, California in November of 2013. Here we are two years later and in need of a small repair. Seems like the sofa recliner has a separation issue between the leather and fabric seam on one of the leg extensions. We always purchase warranties on expensive items and in this case we were offered the Guardsman five year Elite Furniture Protection Plan.

Unfortunately they won't cover the repair. "It sounds like a manufactures issue" If we would have accidentally cut the fabric with a pen or knife than it would be covered. Sounds fishy to me. After going the process of sending in the request forms with pictures etc we were turned downed immediately. We then decided to check into this on the Internet and wouldn't you know it? So many complaints against this company you don't have time to read them all. Our fault for not researching in the beginning. Moral to the story, Don't purchase the Guardsman product.
