I am a single mom who needed a bigger vehicle for me and my son. I knew exacly what car I wanted when I walked into Habberstad. I bought my last car there used, I was never a big fan of the establishment but It was the closet to my home so I went back.

After speaking with the first salesman they handed me off to the salesman I dealt with the first time - Charles Braunstein. After running all the numbers and being told I was getting the "Simon special" (He's a manager and someone who knows my family) I felt the deal I was getting was fair and left a $200.00 deposit. I was told the car I wanted should be there by saturday.

Saturday came without a call from Charles and when I finally reached him he asked if Simon had called me because they had a problem/question, they were having trouble locating the car I wanted with the interior I wanted. I told him I had my heart set on the specific car and to keep looking.

After about a week or so of chasing down the salesman they finally found the car and got it to me. I picked the car up on a rainy Saturday and Sunday when it was finally nice out noticed that there was a small dent and scratches and touch up paint throughout the drivers side. I called Charles and brought the car back for him and the service manager to look at. I made an appointment for the next available date which wasn't for a week.

I had a friend who did auto body look at the car and he showed me that there was a scratch starting at the fender and ending at the dent on the back door that they tried to sand out in hopes I wouldnt notice. I called several times and spoke with Charles and the service Manager Gus explaining to them what had been done to the car and what now needed to be done to fix it. They yes'd me death everytime and just kept telling me the car would be perfect when it came back. They weren't even gonna give me a rental until I had a family member call and speak to the manager Simon they knew.

I went to pick up the car 2 days later and not only was it not fixed entirely or right but the auto body shop did more damage to it while trying to fix the origional problem. They have now had the car in their possession for 10+ days with no end in sight. Its been back and forth to the repair shop 3X and no one has been willing to give me any information or any compensation for my time, trouble or aggrivation.

I now have my first payment due and still no car. And I have spent over $100.00 in additional insurance fees for my rental car. This was my first new car and they have ruined the entire experiance for me

After 22 days and 3 trips to the auto body shop, my vehicle was finally returned to me. It was fixed but it's not perfect, and the more I look the more I find. I've come to the conclusion that reporting my findings to the dealership would probably be a waste of my time and frankly I'm tired of talking about the ordeal they put me through. I was referred to a manager "Ken" only after I contacted the BBB, he appeared to be interested in hearing about and resolving the issues I was having but than never returned my call. Turns out that although numerous managers could never find the time to call me back, they did have the time to find my origional complaint about them on Rip-Off Report and instead of trying to finally do the right thing they used this report as there ammo for doing nothing. After all how could they show any gestures of good will to a customer who said so many hurtfull things about their dealership. So after all was said and done, Habberstad did not give me so much as a free oil change for my troubles...Corperate Nissan however felt so bad for me and the treatment I was recieving...they refunded me 1/2 a months payment, which was only right considering I was forced to make my first payment on a car that I didn't get to drive for almost a month. I wont knock Nissan as a whole. The people I talked to at Corperate Nissan were courteous and professional which is more than I can say for any of the Managers I spoke with at Habberstad. I will never recommend anyone I know to go to Habberstad. I realize you have to tolerate with a certain extent of sleaze when dealing with salesman, there is a reason why they all have the slicked back greasy hair, they are just slimy people looking to slip something past you...all I can say is Habberstad brings the sleeze to new levels..everytime I've walked out of there, I felt like I needed a shower. So thank you so much Simon, Charles and Ken for all your kindness and good will gestures. You may have gotten the sale but you lost a return customer and I am spreading the word to everyone I know about what kind of service they can expect when they walk through your doors. Good luck selling 300 cars a month now Simon
