In may of 2013 I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned Ford F-150 Platinum from Hagerstown Ford. It was marked on the lot with a windshield sticker and window sticker as CPO. I was told to bring the truck back in 2 days to have them "recertify" the truck as it needed to be entered into the system from their dealership. I did was asked, they took the truck in the back, did what ever it is they needed to do and away I went. Fast forward several months, I get a flat tire, could not find the jack or tool to remove the spare. Bring it back to the dealer, they correct the issue but the serivce manager informs me the truck is not in the Ford system as a CPO. Fast Forward many more months of trying to get the error corrected to yesterday 5/5/14. On request I am asked to bring in my paperwork. The GM Eric Carper after attempts to intimidate and threaten me to not pursue this as they will win in court and yells, screams, calls me names deiceds that since I will not be intimidated, he needs to throw me out of his dealership. They refuse to honor my purchase of a Certified Pre-Owned Ford F-150 Platinum unless I pay them $800. Hagerstown Ford practiced deceptive sales efforts, criminal intimidation, dishonest sales practices false advertising. I would not purchase another vehicle from these people if they were the last dealer on earth. I recommend no one ever go there to buy anything.

SIMILIAR EXPERIENCE

I wish I were your friend and had warned me about the dealer. While my recent purchase experience was not as bad, it has been most uncomfortable.
I would post details but it will serve little use as it will be lied upon and I should at my age have known better to purchase there. The whole buying experience was unpleasant.
FORD MOTOR does not care. They will send you a consumer letter expressing their deepest sympathy.

Matter Resolved to Satisfaction

Working with some great folks at Ford Motor Company primarily a greta guy Fred from the CPO division, this matter has come to a sucesful conclusion. I retract what I said originally in my statements. I will only recommend that if you purchase a CPO vehicle, make sure you have the correct paperwork signed by both parties and it is clearly marked on both parties paperwork. Thanks to Ford Motors and Fed, I am now a happy camper!

Revise my Statement

So after the Hagerstown Ford Legal Council threatened me with a lawsuite for damages and any potnetial loss of sales due to my posting, I am changing an aspect of my posting. Please disregard and of the comments I made regarding criminal behavior! I will clarify and say that it is in my own humble, non-lawyer opinion that my experiences with Hagerstown Ford have been less then satisfactory and still remains unresolved!

Customer Not wrong

Sometimes the customer is right and not wrong as you presume. In this case the customer purchased a vehicle from your dealership with the large windshield display saying CPO, the window sticker saying CPO and the sales people saying CPO. I also have the work order from your service department to "recertify" the vehicle under your dealership. I suppose your documents are wrong as well. Your GM Eric Carper is the worst sales person/sales manager I have personally ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Your dealership is dishonest, the response on all social media outlets has been over whelming with others having problems as well. I can certainly understand awards being handed out to people & companies undeserving. Hell, even Obama got a Nobel Piece Prize, shows you the value in awards! You sir and your dealership are in the wrong, I have the paperwork and documentation to prove it and you choose to have a battle in court and public opinion rather then make 2 phone calls, maybe pony up $800 to correct an error your dealership has caused. So, all of your awards are as valuable as the paper they are written on. I may be a little guy, my issue will not close your dealership, but if I can protect a couple friends & friends of friends from your criminal mis-representation and cost you a couple of deals, then I am a happy camper. I know at least one more sale you will not be getting and that is the 2015 Mustang GT my wife will buy once they are available. Your dealership is dishonest, shady and borders on the verge of criminal mis-representation and fraud. I guess if you were not bothered by what I am saying and what I was saying is all the customers fault (good policy on your part, LoL) then you would not feel the need to say it is all my fault and I am wrong. That is an excellent way to build confidence in your brand out in the market place. LoL, where did you go to business school? I say again to anyone out there, DO NOT BUY A FORD FROM HAGERSTOWN FORD!!!

Hagerstown Ford is ranked among the best Ford Dealerships in the Country in Customer Satisfaction. We sell a few hundred new and used vehicles each and every month. Every now and then... the customer is wrong. As a matter of practice... we aim for 100 percent satisfaction, but sometimes we just cannot accomidate a customers wishes.
Please see the following note sent to this individual on 5/6/2014 nearly one year after his purchase date. This should clear up any confusion. Additionally... please note - Hagerstown Ford DID NOT certify this truck... Ford Motor Co will not allow the certification of vehicles once the vehicle has been sold. We have tried to explain this several times to this individual... but he refuses to except the facts.
Dear Mr Perkins, I apologize for any confusion concerning the purchase of your F150 and whether it was a Certified Pre-owned vehicle. At the time you purchased the vehicle from us, it was not a CPO. Previous to Hagerstown Ford owning the vehicle, it was offered for sale at Frederick Ford. Frederick Ford certified the vehicle when they offered it for sale. Frederick Ford then sold the vehicle to M & M Auto Brokers who sold the vehicle to Hagerstown Ford. Frederick Ford then Decertified the truck to receive the fees they had paid to certify the vehicle. We offered the vehicle for sale with the balance of the remaining factory warranty. You purchased the truck from us with that remaining warranty. You signed the Buyers Guide that was on the window when you purchased it stating that the vehicle was sold with the remaining factory warranty.
I assume that the confusion emanates from a Buyers Guide you acquired and have supplied to us that was a product of Frederick Ford’s CPO program. This is not our document and has nothing to do with your purchase of the vehicle. Certification does not transfer with the vehicle and any Ford dealer selling a CPO must certify the vehicle and pay the certification fee to Ford before they sell the vehicle. Hagerstown Ford did not certify the vehicle or offer it for sale as a certified vehicle.
I hope this clears up the confusion about your purchase.
As you can see... this story is a total fabrication of the facts! Hagerstown Ford as ALL supporting documents to prove our position. We also tried to split the cost of a Ford Extended Warranty for good measure... the customer denied!
