My computer had crashed, normally I print my boarding pass the night before but couldn't due to computer failure and so I called Hawaiian air at 7:30am to confirm my flight which I though left at 9:30am because it arrives at 12:30pm a five hour flight. They informed me the flight leaves at 8:30am and there was no way to make the flight. They informed me that there would be a $200.00 fee to rebook on the next flight that to me was a major rip-off. I will never fly Hawaiian again very customer UNfriendly and their agent were rude in handling my complaint. After major complaining the dropped the fee to $150.00.

Not the Computers

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 18, 2009

The "d**n computer" didn't make yo miss your flight. Your failure to know what time the flight left made you miss your flight. Why didn't you call Hawaiian the night before to find out what time the flight left? Figuring flight time never seems to work out because of all the time changes.

Whose Fault Was This?

There was no excuse for customer service to be rude but if one misses his flight he pays the "walk up" fare for the next flight which may indeed be $200 more. Since you live in Honolulu you must know that Hawaiian is the ONLY airline out of Hawaii that provides the same kind of customer service that Southwest does in the lower 48. I've had great flights on Hawaiian to and from Hawaii with hot food, great service and friendly people. Customer Service on the phone is also excellent. I don't see how this problem is Hawaiian's fault. YOU missed the flight. Back before deregulation airline fares were printed in the timetable. Everybody paid the same published fare whether they walked up to the counter before the flight or made a reservation months in advance. Times have changed. Fares are determined by a number of factors including projected load and the walk up customer pays through the nose.
