HDI , BUYERS EDGE HDI charged $99 to Visa without authorization, claims it was authorized Nationwide New Jersey

I discovered a charge today on my Visa statement from HDI*CO STORE BUYERS EDGE for $99. I did a search on the web and found this site, listing multiple other people who've received similiar unauthorized charges. There are 94 reports as of today against this company, but they are all listed as HDI____ different ending....search just "HDI" to see them all. I'm going to link my report to "HDI Connections" at the bottom, but there are many more unlinked reports.

I called the 866-424-7100 number listed on the charge. A man told me that I had reached "Membership Services" and the charge was for a discount program available by membership only. He said I had authorized it on 5/8/07 through The Company Store. The Company Store is a legitimate company, which I have previously done business with....probably the *CO STORE part of the line on the statement refers to them...as I noticed others had HDI*OTHER ACRONYM on their reports.

I would have never authorized this charge. The man proceeded to give me a sales pitch about the program, and asked if I'd received my starter package and free gas card.....which I have not. I told him I did not want it, and I wanted a refund. He said he would refund me for $89.10 because the charges are pro-rated. ?!?!?

I contacted Chase Visa, who is opening a dispute for me to obtain a full refund. That's all just fine, but I really want the proper authorities to DO something about this company. What a hassle. And Chase Visa does not seem to care....they turned around and tried to sell me a Credit Security Program ! ! Which I hope does not appear on my statement!!
