I first started working for this company Health Benefits Center back in November. I thought I would be selling great health insurance. My first day, training was only 3 hours long. I was a little confused, because I have never worked with health insurance before in my life so I wanted to take the information home to study. They told me I could not take any of the material home, not even my notes. I was thrown on the phone selling insurance reading a script. A long the way after doing research on my own, I realized that these insurance plans are not good and they were being misrepresented to these people. We call it a Limited Medical Indeminity Plan and make it sound so great because there is no deductible. We make the plan sound so great to these customers, then they also have to go through verifications to complete the process. Before they are put through verifications, they are told by the sales agents not to ask any questions and to agree with everything because if they stop the verifications, they have to start the process all over again. Mind you, most of the sales agents that are talking to these people are not licensed. I had a horrible feeling that everything was all wrong and I couldn't do the sales aspect of this company any longer.

I then asked to transfer to customer service thinking that I could do a job that did not go against my morals and I could actually be honest with these customers. Customer service was like seeing the whole truth behind everything. The majority of customers called per day to cancel. Most customers had a health emergency and found out that this so called insurance didn't cover them. I'm talking about people that had bills of over thousands of dollars and we would only cover a couple of hundred dollars. It was unbelieveable. Then when these customers would ask to cancel, their whole policy would not get cancelled because according to verifications, they would have to cancel out each policy separately. By the time, they would notice the charges on their bank statement, it was already passed the period that they could get refunded. Most of these customers, I wouldn't even be able to find in the system because their name was spelled incorrectly, or the customers wouldn't get their information about their policy because the address was incorrect in the system. Everything was completely wrong about the whole thing. The health facilities would call customer service, because the claims and benefits department wouldn't verify the customer's insurance and we couldn't give any kind of information. So they go back and forth all day playing a game and not being able to verify anything regarding the insurance.

Next thing you know, the owner was on everyones back to all of a sudden get licensed by a specific deadline or our jobs were in jeopardy. According to them, if someone asked for our licensed number and we didn't give it to them, we could get in trouble. We weren't allowed to give any information regarding a sales agent, because they feared it would cause a lot of issues. Or if someone wanted to get insurance, if someone didn't refer them that had our insurance already or they didn't speak to one of the sales agents, they were not able to get the health insurance due to them fearing it would be a secret shopper. We had a few people that were in training to do customer service and they fired them, because they asked too many questions or they were afraid that they were secret spies. I no longer work for this company and I hope something is done very soon.

And also if it is not insurance, it should not be presented that way by the employees. Thanks.

I would like to say that I just looked this company up on the BBB website and do not find anything on this business, I called these people and I signed on had no issues with people hanging up, as a matter off fact when I call they answer every time, I have not gotten the run around and I was not ignored when I asked for there information. To some people this looks to good to be true but it is not health insurance its to help people to stay with their own doctors and are paying out of pocket, people cannot afford health insurance now a days so this is to help basically its a PPO to be honest I think a lot of reports were made because people got fired and they are trying to make waves. Or because they have a bad feeling they assumed it was a bad businessj
