I recently purchased a certified used Honda Odyssey, from Hendrick Honda, 14201 Jefferson Davis Highway Woodbridge, Va, in March of 2009. Around January 2011 I started to notice rust bubbling through the paint on the rear tailgate and the rear drivers side quarter panel.(see attached pictures) After visiting an automotive repair shop, I was told that the vehicle had been in an accident and poorly repaired. It took the inspector at the body shop no more than five minutes to come to her conclusion that the vehicle had been in an accident. The estimated repair cost is $1,100.63.(see attached estimate)

I am not personally trained in inspecting vehicles for prior damage, but it would seem to me that the individual certifying the vehicles at Hendrick Honda would be properly trained prior to being able to stamp the vehicle with the Honda Certified Used stamp. Had this person been properly trained, this damage could have been caught early on, saving me time and money, and maintaining Hendrick Hondas integrity as an honest business.

On April 25, 2011 I contacted Hendrick Honda, as required by federal law prior to seeking legal action, and spoke with Mr. George Henderson who told me that there is nothing that Hendrick Honda can do to rectify this situation. After sending a letter(see attached letter), contacting them through their website, and several more unreturned phone calls, I have been forced to resort to other measures.

Problem Resolved

On 08 Jun 2011 I was contaced by Hendrick Honda and asked to meet with Mr Bob Conley, Vice President and General Manager.  After meeting with Mr Conley that afternoon he agreed to fix the damage and provide me with a rental vehicle while my van was out for repairs.  I have since picked up the van and am happy with the work provided.  Mr Conley was very polite and cooperative throughout our dealings.  I now consider this matter closed.

When it comes to fraud, deception, lies, con-games, a staff of slimeballs, pond scum and sleaze bags, just go to ANY Hendrick dealership.
