BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! They claim for all their customers they have very few unhappy customers but that is for their hosting division. Their web building division is one of the worst in the world. They have sent me emails telling me they are sorry for my frustrations a dozen times and lied three times that amount. I will email their lies to you opon request. I am on a life long quest to get $1,748 dollars back HWS stole from me. Call me to join class action lawsuit. My number is listed under a copy of my letter to Harris bank who issued the debit card they kept charging. They have a criminal kind of you don't matter contract but it violates many many laws. I am confident if I make this a life long battle I will get every penny back even if I have to go down there myself.

To Harris Bank regarding Heritage Web Solutions Fraudulent Charges:

Heritage Web Solutions is Located at 1460 North Moon River Dr. Provo, Utah 84604. On April 1st 2008 after doing an Internet search for a web designer I found Heritage web solutions located in Utah. I agreed to a website to be built by HWS. I talked to sales rep Mr. Rob Bonham who can be reached at 866-211-0743 X1739. I was told by Rob that the total cost would be $1040 to build the website for my company womens lotion Inc..

I agreed with Rob and had him send me the invoice he emailed me on April 1st 2008 for a total of $1040. Please notice the charge of $59.99 for monthly hosting fees. I failed to relate to the fact I had no website to be hosted yet I was to be billed that $59.99 on my Harris bank debit card no later then the final payment of this Invoice which was on 4/21/2008. That final billing on my Harris bank card was for $520, which was the full payment for the original invoice of $1040.

Note: the invoice actually is for $1,099.99 and thats what I was billed. They decided to charge me for the hosting after the invoice was sent out. It is very confusing. Please see invoice included. But basically notice the invoice states around four weeks to complete a website. It has been 2 months. I have hundreds of emails and have talked to no less then 20 employees at HWS.I even emailed the owner to no avail. It is amazing how they can give you the run around.

I complained to HWS on may 13th and received several encouraging emails regarding this site being finished and latter was let down time and time again. All HWS has done for me is two banner pages by HWS which was completed by Kevin Fox who can be reached at 866-211-0743 x1516 and a logo which was completed by Amanda Smith but she is unable to raise the DPI for my business cards and has sent me numerous files that can not be opened. I went to one printer three times Chuck at Office Depot located at 1020 N Addison road, Addison, ill 60101 who can be reached at (((phone number redacted))) He will remember me, I have gone to him for help no less then four times regarding the unusable logo HWS has made. Amanda Smith can be reached at 866-211-0743 X 1570. I will admit Amanda really did try to help.

Back To Kevin Fox, Kevin explained to me he was only responsible for the pages he had completed and that was all. (See emails) But Account managers told me he was responsible for finishing the site. Here are some of the people I have contacted. I have no one particular contact to work with. Every one I talk to tells me to talk to someone else. The list goes on and on and on. Here are a few of these people at HWS>> Adell Goff, David Gale, Kevin Fox, Amanda Smith, Josh, Adam McGee, Mike Madsen, Jentry Lombardi, Austin Jones, Mark Strong (CEO), David Funk and countless other HWS employees.

When I contacted Kevin regarding who is handling my website he said he is not responsible to finish the site and emailed everyone that they were incorrect thinking it was his responsibility to finish the website. (See emails). I can go on and on and on. I could write a book. But to get to the point the reason I want a refund besides what you have read so far is because the original invoice and the amount I was charged has been changed. The $59.99 a month is a hosting fee and I have no web site.

The website is supposed to have a data feed for an additional $450..First I was told I could pay when the data feed and website was completed and then I was told it would require half down ($225). And finally I was told I could pay when the data feed and website was completed. (See email). This email allowing me to owe them $450 until the site was done is why I did not stop doing business with HWS. But on May 29th HWS billed me the $450 from my Harris Bank debit card even though I did not have a completed website. I have an email I have included in this complaint that clearly states>>>

Mike,

I just wanted to thank you for your patents and your business with HWS. Here is the information we talked about, that you wanted sent to you. You will be billed the remainder $450.00 on completion of your website as well as your monthly hosting. And you get a FREE Text logo design and Ron Bonham said it would be okay to add the simple picture in the logo as well. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Thank You,

Account manager Austin Jones emailed this letter to me on Monday April 28th 2008. He can be reached at 866-211-0743 X 1942. Yet I was billed $450. That is when I called and talked to Mary Ellen in Harris Banks ATM department to get a full refund. When I originally called Harris bank the same morning of May 30th 2008 I talked to Tamika who diligently instantly canceled my Harris bank credit card because of a $26,550 charge HWS attempted after the $450 charge. Yes the amount is $26,550.

I am sure HWS will say this is a mistake but I researched them online when the problems started and they are nearing a class action lawsuit from the things I have read about this company. I am enclosing their contract. I have enclosed an incredible 47 paragraph contract that HWS hides when you log on to start filling in information regarding how you want your website built. I have enclosed this terrifying contract. I have noticed they broke some of their own contract provisions such as fraudulent credit card charges.

I am sure they have broken many laws regarding my horrible experience with this company and hope Harris Bank can help me. I have been with Harris Bank for almost 20 years and never had to file such a complaint. I am also sending this complaint to the BBB. Me and Mary Ellen went through the charges on my debit card and came up with a total of $1,759.98

I have enclosed numerous emails with notes on what they are about but there are so many I hope they are not confusing.

Thanks for looking into this matter. No matter what Harris bank decides I have cut all communication with HWS and are looking for another website designer.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

HWS and their practices

AUTHOR: Justin B. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 16, 2008

I am an ex-employee of Heritage Web Solutions, I worked for them for 3 years as a PHP programmer, I also did all the updates and all the stores for the company.

This is NOT and i emphasize NOT a positive response about HWSINET.

If you notice most of their designs that they 'churn out' are actually quite easy to build. One could build many of these layouts in 15-20 minutes, which is what happens because they have a requirement for all employees to work together to get 10 websites live every day. The way they do this is over-charging for a service that is less than adequate.

Now I have never seen their contracts or anything, but they own the copyright (most companies do that) for any work you contract them to do. So this means you don't actually own your site, you're just 'renting' it.

The way they get their pricing is they figure out how many people it is going to take to complete it -- its usually only 2 people the designer and the html programmer unless you spend the extra money to get it programmed with database connectivity. So they are paying $20.00 an hour to the two employees (combined) -- it'll take them maybe 16 hours to complete which would be $320.00 but then HWSINET needs to make money too so they times it by 3! so for a simple site that shouldnt cost you even 500 dollars you're getting charged $1000! how's that for a ripoff?

Here is another thing and check this out.. HWSINET focuses on 'design' however crappy it might be, and HTML programming (their html programmers dont even know HTML they use a WYSIWYG editor such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver)...

So when you order a website from them and they sell you a photogallery you might pay anywhere from $20.00 to $1000.00 for the photo gallery. The price depends on how greedy the person is because they get a commission for everything they 'sell' you. When I worked there I used to give stuff away for free, and do custom programming for free to the people i worked with.

here is the thing about all these products they are 'selling' you .. NO ONE AT HWSINET MADE THEM! they can ALL be found @ http://www.resourceindex.com/

So for something that takes them 20 seconds to upload, and 2 seconds to make a folder for they're charging you 20+ for it. Ripoff Gallore!..

And lastly for employees they make you sign an 'agreement' prior to your first day of work that is your standard non-compete agreement with the added clauses that state that if you quit or are fired EVER, you cannot get another job in the industry for a minimum of 5 years. Which is illegal, as they cannot stop you from working in the industry we are in. Don't think anyone has even cared.

I remember the Graphic Design Team Lead, Chris Simon, young kid pretty nice and cool. After I left I guess he started his own company with a few others that worked there, and so he was getting paid by HWSINET to steal their customers and make money a 2nd time by doing the website for his company.

While I don't condone his actions, at least HWSINET didnt get any of the money from those jobs plus they were out the hourly rate for Chris as well as other employees affiliated with his company.

It is these business practices that made me leave the company and recently start my own (Amplified Web Services) because i REFUSE to put my name on a website that is a blatant waste of space on the internet.

Hope this message finds you well in your search for a new web designer.

Heritage Web Solutions Values Customer Service

AUTHOR: Brad Stone - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Heritage Web Solutions values all of its customers, especially those who have voiced complaints. It is in our best interest to work with these customers to reach a reasonable and fair resolution. In most cases Heritage tries to go beyond what is fair for the company and errors on the side of the upset customer.

Words cannot express how truly sorry we are for some customers who, no matter what we do, are never truly satisfied. This is especially disheartening, as Heritage has the solid reputation of providing excellent customer service.

Some customers, as illustrated on this complaint website, have resorted to airing their grievances on the public Internet, in hopes of resolving their particular complaint. We do all that we can to help meet a fair resolution to their satisfaction.

However what becomes unfair to us, are those customers who we feel have received everything they have asked for, and more, but then take it upon themselves to have an ongoing vindication against Heritage. To us, there is nothing more we can do to satisfy them. They are who they are. Vindictive and angry people do more harm to themselves than they think they are doing against a company. It is sad but true.

Heritage Web Solutions, with a customer base of over 10,000, receives less than one half of one percent in complaints. That is an impressively low number compared to the standards of today. We certainly would like to have zero complaints, but that is just not realistically possible. There will always be those people who cry foul, no matter what.

What you don't see on this complaint website are all the positive emails and letters we receive daily from customers who are extremely happy with the service and work we have provided for them.

Heritage Web Solutions is a good, solid custom web design and hosting company that has an excellent rating with the Better Business Bureau and the Utah State Department of Commerce. We are ranked in the top 1% of web hosting companies in the United States and have recently been recognized by Inc 500.

If you feel that Heritage Web Solutions is not taking care of you, I would invite you to contact me at my personal email address at ceo@hwsinet.com, and I will personally follow up on your issue.

Warmest Regards,

Brad Stone
CEO/Heritage Web Solutions.
