I rented a Versa from hertz of Riverdale for just a day, but called and told them that I need to extend for a coule more days. On April 2, 2011 the Utah Highway Patrol pulled a friend over for expired plates. They called Hertz and explained that the Versa was going to be impounded for the plates. That was on April first or second. On April 11 my account was charged $826.44 for three days. I was only paying with Insurance $45 to $60 per day as I never recieved an ending statement. At most it might have come to $200.00. What is the extra $626.44 charges. Since they never sent me a statement as to the final costs. This means I paid almost $300.00 a day. That's what is called really getting a good ream job. I know of one other person overcharge $2400. How much do they their employees. If it's that much I want a job.

If this was YOUR rental and your FRIEND was driving it were they on the rental agreement?  If not you could be in violation of the Rental Agreement as most of those agreements specifically state that unless a person is on the Rental Agreement they are NOT allowed to drive the car.

If this is the case where your friend was driving it and not authorized, it could be the impound fees that were charged.  Because it probably wouldn't have been imounded just for expired registration, unless it is severly delinquent.  But because he was not on the agreement the cops treated it differently.

Have you even tried to talk to them to get them to send you an ending statement?
