I tried over the last two months to get HP customer support in conjuction with Wester Digital hard drive manufacturer customer support to get my HP Desktop running again after it crashed in November of 2005. I had several phone calls with both companies and some online tech support with HP to solve this issue with my computer. I eventually ordered a new 7-disk recovery system cd set from HP giving the model # and serial # of my computer. I received them overnight, which was great. I paid $37.83 which included tax and shipping charges and thought I was on my way to getting my puter fixed. I also bought a new hard drive from Best Buy and when that didn't work, I returned to Western Digital for a replacement hard drive, which I received about 15 days later. I replaced the hard drive, used the Data Lifeguard disk to partition and format the drive, updated the BIOS, as suggested, and used the recovery system cd's to try to get my computer running. I order the cd's on 2/2/06 and received them on 2/3/06. great! From there I have tried and tried to make my computer run with these disks with no luck using them. Finally on 2/2606, a computer tech, who is a friend of a relative, came over to the house and looked over my situation with my computer and the disks I bought from HP. What he discovered is the recovery disks cds are not the correct set for my computer. I have my old set and I just wanted HP to give me a refund. HP is refusing to give me my money back. This angered me beyond belief! I demanded to speak with a boss of the company and I was hung up on! So now I am posting this complaint in the hopes I can get some kind of results about my situation. I still have the disks and HP is refusing to refund the money I spent on them. I will never buy HP products again as long as this situation continues.
