I received a phone call from William Reyes, Agent ID 5544 yesterday, indicating that I had won a free 3 day 2 night cruise on their flagship Bahamas Celebration, leaving from Ft. Lauderdale. The trip he described sounded lovely, and he indicated that there would be a $59 per person fee for port charges and taxes. I was a bit hesitant, he was gently persistent, and I decided why not. He took my credit card number and passed me to his manager, JUSTIN, for verification. Lo and behold, it wasn't for verification, but for upselling me a $1000 travel package to tack on before my "free" cruise.
I politely declined, at which point he became more persistent, to the point of becoming extremely condescending and mocking of me. When I told him I no longer wanted my "free" cruise, he indicated it was too late because they had already charged my card. I requested a refund, at which point he became even more rude and said they didn't want people like me on their cruises anyways. For a company that is trying to make a reputation by word of mouth, they have chosen the wrong way to go about it. I am ashamed I fell for it and caution others to stay away from them.

Has anyone actually booked the trip?

In reading all these complaints, I only found one that said they had attempted to pay the Port charges and register for the trip. All the others are hard to value because they didn't register and pay the Port Fee which it clearly says on the voucher before you call. My querry was simply to find out if anyone had registered, didn't buy anything else and actually booked and did the trip. None of the comments supported that they just take your money for the Port Fee and then never follow through with a free 2 night 3 day Cruise leaving from West Palm Beach Florida so how can you say it is a Scam or Ripoff?
With prior cruises I have taken, there is always a Port Fee and Taxes that are seperate from the actually Cruise Price. It doesn't seem unreasonable to me that they would want some commitment if you are agreeing to taking the cruise and offer. I quizzed them extensively because yes I know that you don't get something for nothing...that's a fact. What I did find out is that the catch is they want you to sit for a 90 minute sales pitch for Timeshares that they have in Florida. They indicated to me the $1300 voucher would be used toward the hotel of your choice which they use to have people stay in Orlando or Ft. Lauderdale and then attend the seminar prior to your cruise. They also it included a rental car for 7 days and that the $1300 could be used to upgrade your cabin on the cruise or various spending on the cruise or port activities which include the resort. The cruise also included one night stay at the beautiful resort on The Grand Bahamas Island and all the amenities that are included with one nights stay.
I came here to research them prior to making a commitment but honestly, I am not convinced by reading any of these statements that it is a ripoff. I am not in support of this company at all but it clearly states all the information on the voucher and I did not feel like there were any surprises when I called. It also states on the voucher that each person is responsible for Port Charges, Taxes, Hotel and Rental Car Taxes, which in my opinion could be part of the law that they can not pay or it would be at their expense where the things. they offer are a trade with companies for promotion...I do not know but it makes sense to me that taxes and port fees would be out of pocket rather than trade costs.
I am going to keep hunting but thought it was important to point out that I don't think there is enough information from posters here to claim it is a scam, unless they went through with the credit card purchase of port charges and then booked a trip and found out that it didn't exist or that it didn't meet their expectations. I doubt if they went on the trip they would be looking to post here! I also would be interested in what the Timeshare presentation was like but no one went that far out of fear so that is useless as well.
Just my 2 cents worth. I do not have any affilitation or inside interest in this company.
