Home Protect Warranty_Pride Heating False claims of Control Module Problem, inserted dirty unit in comments, Home Protect denied claim saying not maintained , Internet

Home Protect sent HVAC company, Pride to our home to fix issue with heat.  Pride said it was the fuse, replaced it and the heat worked fine.  Pride made note on invoice recommending cleaning service, $160, not covered by warranty.  Then, we had issue with switching to AC.  Home Warranty again sent Pride out approx 6 months later.   This time Pride determined our unit control board was bad and made a note on invoice that the unit was dirty and future claims would be denied.  Home Protect called to advise that they denied our claim b/c it said unit was dirty and unmaintained.  Pride wanted to charge $554 to install new control board.

Because Pride took over a week to return calls to schedule buying parts and coming back out, I called another provider. This guy determined the unit control board is fine and that the thermostat is the issue.  Our AC worked when he left.  He also said our unit is well maintained and clean. 

He charged $164.95, he also corrected unconnected wires near control unit and was quite clear that we did not need a new control unit.

I believe these guys are in cahoots.   What a crock!
