Hometeam Pest Defense Bill out of the blue -- Never heard of this company before then got a bill Silver Spring Maryland

Basically, I never heard of these people. I never had a contract with them. I never had ANY relationship with them. I never called them, even for information. One day, a bill showed up in the mail and that was the first time I heard of Hometeam.

By way of background I DID have Advanced Pest Control (out of West Virginia) come out to spray for insects when I had the siding replaced. They came out automatically three months later without any notice and I told them that they were NEVER to come out to treat without an appointment. After all, how do I know that they did anything if I was not at home. And since they were supposed to treat the inside of the house, they need me there to let them in. They complied and called in advance the next time. After a couple of more treatments, I told them that the bugs were gone and I would not need them for a while. I would call if I had a problem in the future. That was the end of it, in my mind.

One day, I got a bill in the mail from Hometeam a company I had never heard of before. When I called them they said that Advanced Pest Control had sold me companies could sell you. I guess by that logic I can expect a bill in the mail from the local car dealer for a car I did not buy? Advanced Pest denies knowing anything about this.

Hometeam said they would fix it but I kept getting bills. My next call assured me that there had been a mistake and I could forget about it, but the very next day I got another bill in the mail AND a collection letter. This has been going on since October with no end in sight. When I checked the BBB I found that they have 36 complaints against them all of them resolved in one way or another. I'll make one last call today and then file a complaint with the BBB and the State Attorney General's office (for whatever good that will do me they don't seem to do much of anything for the consumer.)

In retrospect, I should have done it myself. In the future, I'll buy my own chemicals from the Internet and not have anything to do with pest control companies.
