House of Brides Schaumburg My dress did not arrive as promised and I had to go to David's Bridal two day before my wedding!!! Schaumburg Schaumburg, IL

I ordered my wedding dress at HOB in January 2013 for my June 1st, 2013 wedding.  They assured me my dress would be in a week before the wedding.  You have to pay in full when you order your dress.  I did not hear anything from them so a week before my wedding I called to check on my dress.  I was told they would call as soon as it arrived.  Then four days before my wedding I was really starting to get nervous.  I called and spoke to the head of operations. I asked her to be honest with me and she told me my dress would not be here until Friday which was the day before my wedding and that their Tailor did not work on Friday so I was basically on my own.  I couldn't believe my ears and asked to speak with the General Manager.  I got her voice mail and she never called me back.

I went to the store in person the following day and they were trying to get me out of the lobby as I was upset and they didn't want other customers to see me like that.  They told me that my dress would be there by Thursday which was completely different to the day before. I didn't believe them at this point and could not take the chance so I went accross the street to David's Bridal and bought a dress off the rack.  They told me at David's that this is not the first time this has happened and it is probably due to HOB not paying their bills on time.  

The dress did arrive the day before my wedding which was unacceptable as I had a rehearsal and other last minute details to take care of.   They are dispicable and I hope no one else gets cought like I did.  House of Brides get their dresses from China, David's Bridal make their dresses in the U.S.   Do not shop here because they are unreliable, do not keep their word and once they get your money, customer service goes out the window. These women are dispicable and I don't know how they sleep at night.

We apologize for your inconvenience and invite you to contact Customer Relations at customerrelations@houseofbrides.com. Please include your full name so we may investigate your order. We cannot provide you specific details about your complaint without your information. However, House of Brides is an authorized retailer of our designers. We order direct from the designers. Typically, special order gowns can take 12 – 16 weeks depending on the designer’s production. At the time of your purchase, the salon would have checked with the designer to ensure delivery prior to your date. With the time frame you indicated, the salon would have informed you the gown would be in very close to your wedding date. We again apologize for your inconvenience and invite you to contact Customer Relations to discuss further.

Also please be advised the retailer you commented on manufacturers their own dresses in China.
