Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union Repossesed My mothers Car even though payments up to date!!! Poughkeepsie New York

We had purchased a 2006 Lincoln Navigator in the summer of 2005 for my mother because she needs to have hip replacement surgery and this car was the easiest for her to get around in due to the automatic running boards and handles made it easier for her to get in and out of and above all comfortable. We all want the best for out moms...

Anyways I was helping mom cover the payments etc.. But my mother had to leave to Greece for family reasons and I was left to take care of the house here and all the bills.

I had taken the Lincoln off the road because I had been late with the Insurance payment Geico was too quick to cancel my policy in four days. Plates suspended and then I got the car Impounded. I figured it's better to leave the car locked up in the yard till mom got back.

Then I get a notice from the Bank stating I needed to have Insurance on the car but I couldn't do that because the car was in my moms name so I couldn't register or insure it. The Bank then puts a forced place insurance of almost $10,000 for two months not insured.

During the summer they had a promotion to skip a payment for hot summer cash supposedly. I sent it in and they hadn't honored it. My Mom had the car note on auto pay but because of some e-bay incident that caused excessive overdrafts at Key Bank I was just bringing the payment in cash at the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Unions' branch, Which I have saved every receipt of Payment I had made.

The Bank calls my house some guy named Steve from collections and says to me I'm a payment behind, I told him I've been making the payments and he said about Augusts payment and I said I sent in the skip to pay coupon and he said he would honor that and then he went on about the Insurance.

I told the guy my mom was the owner and I couldn't get that and he told me he couldn't talk to me some privacy act or something but then he told me to get a power of attorney to be able to Insure it and he could then talk to me because I was not on the Loan.
I then went to my lawyer, Mr J. Winslow to get the power of attorney to deal with that.

I called the Bank and told them I was doing that to deal with this issue. Steve said ok no problem and I was under the impression they were going to deal with me nicely.

Later some guy Mitch from collections kept calling my house leaving nasty and annoying messages on my answering machine and then letters threatening to repossess the car. My wife became very upset at these messages and found this guy to be extremely rude and obnoxious. I told them over the phone they could not take the car because I'm working it out with Steve and i HAVE RECEIPTS THAT I'm UP TO DATE!!

Mitch told me Steve was away and he would not be in for a week and that the Bank does not want to deal with me. They came with the Police the following days and took my car while I was at work and they hadn't let my wife get out stuff out of the car and I had to rush home and take her to the hospital. She had a panic attack and almost miscarried our unborn child at Three and a half months into her pregnancy.

Just as they repossessed the Lincoln they had it sold the following Monday with out any chance for me to get it back. On top of that they got another payment out of my moms bank account from the auto payment and refused to talk to me.

I called them back and asked them why they took my money after taking my car and whats with the almost $12,000 forced placed insurance thing? They said that it would be canceled and I would be charge a very small difference of that not even $1000.

I could not deal with all of this stress the Bank had been giving me so I went to a lawyer but they had no interest in my case. I went to the dealership and they were absolutely shocked and told me they had no right to do this to me and they should have, if anything given me the chance to get my car back!

They also told me to call the New York State Attorney Generals office to get the consumer affairs division and to have the Banking commission investigate them and to also file a formal complaint with the National federal Credit Union Administration.

Please help me get Justice I am so aggravated. I can't stand it anymore I feel so violated.
