Hunter Rentals SLUM LORD RENTAL AGENCY RENTING UNHEALTHY HOMES Killeen, Texas

Hunter Rentals rented us a very unhealthy, unsanitary house for 3 years.  Instead of replacing the sewage lines from the house to the street, they & the home owners allowed the house & yard to flood with sewage several times a week for years.  Every time the plumber was called, Hunter would try to re-bill you $150 for the plumbing bill.  The carpet & carpet padding was never replaced, or even cleaned properly after each of the dozens of floods.  The house had such severe termite damage that there was only an inner wall to protect our family from the elements.  Any time there was a northern storm, rain would come through the back wall.  The carpet was constantly wet along that wall.  The house made both of us & our baby sick.  Our baby was 3 mos. old when I moved into that house.  He has suffered from severe developmental delays, & now Autism, that cannot be explained after running every genetic test possible.  We paid them over $30,000 in 3 years & have spent more than that in health bills while living there.  And we will have these medical problems for the rest of our lives.  We wrote letters for several years about the house needing to be tested for mold, bacteria, viruses, or other pathogens that could have caused our health problems.  They never even acknowledged our letters.  When we moved out, they kept all of our $1500 security deposits charging us for fictitious charges for damages that were done to the house before we ever lived there or even by their contractors they hired.  We wrote several letters to the home owner & Hunter Rentals about wanting our money back.  They refused.  We reported them to Fort Hood Housing Authority & the Better Business Bureau.  Now they are suing us for the $1840 of fictitious charges of damage to the house & for liable saying that what we reported about them was a lie.  I only reported exactly what we experienced or what happened.  We still do not know what made us sick in that house on 1504 Jefferis Ave in Killeen.  I only wish someone had warned us about Hunter Rentals.
