After extensive searching, my boyfriend found the incredible deals on hursthardwood.com and we decided to go with their products. We ordered very nice hardwood for a very low price and we had an installer ready to go.
I called Hurst to confirm expedited shipping which would have had the hardwood delivered on a Monday by 12 noon. By one pm we had not received the wood. I called Hurst and they gave me the Fed Ex tracking number. I called Fed Ex and they said that expedited, guaranteed shipping had never been arranged with them. After about two hours, or more, on the phone with Fed Ex and Hurst, I arranged for the wood to be delivered the next day.
A one day delay would not have been an issue except, of course, deliveries only come during the work day and my boyfriend had taken the day off to be available to receive the wood. Additionally, we had scheduled our installer to start on Tuesday and so we had to reschedule the installation.
Once we received the wood, it was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. However, while we ordered 36 boxes, only 30 were delivered. It may be our fault that we did not count the boxes when we received them but it was a down pour that day and we had to get to work.
I called Hurst to get the rest of the wood. I received wood but it was the wrong color. I contacted Hurst to receive the correct wood. They sent it but chose to not pick up the wrong wood that day and said they would figure out when else to get it.
Finally, I received the correct colored six boxes of wood. Of course, it came two days later than I was told it would come, but it came. In addition to all the waiting I went through, I had to pay $100 to my installer because of the delays caused to him. Hurst never offered to compensate me for any of my frustration.
Now, we have to arrange and be available for Fed Ex to come pick up the wrong wood. Again, more time on the phone with Hurst and more waiting to help them clean up their messes.
In their favor, they said the shipping mishaps were because of a warehouse employee who was on his way out. For their sake, I hope this is true. Also, the wood I ordered from them is much less expensive than other places and they are very friendly on the phone. I guess this is truly a case of you get what you pay for. I would recommend Hurst if price is your main criteria and you are willing and prepared to put up with the headaches. Now that the floor is installed, I am happy with it. Would I order from Hurst again? Only if I was short on money and/or I had a flexible schedule.

We tried our best to please her and this is what we get. It says on our sight and it is common sense to allow an extra day for items to arrive out of state. We wish her well.
