I was looking to purchase a part for my gas furnace/air conditioning unit. I did not have part number. I found the website for HVAC Parts Outlet on the internet. They claim on website to assist you in finding that hard to locate HVAC part.
I tried to find the part and had narrowed it down to 36 different parts. I emailed HVAC Parts Outlet through their website on a Thursday morning. By Friday afternoon, I had not received an email back. Therefore, I called them about 3:30PM CST.
The man on the phone did not give me his name, but was extremely rude and spoke to me like I was stupid. He told me that since I did not include the complete model number for my furnace, they just deleted the email. I do not understand why they did not email me back explaining that was not a complete model number. I am needing to buy a Draft Inducer Motor because ours is starting to go out. I have kept it going, but at any time, we could be without heat. Yet, they just ignore me.

To continue, he told me that they were getting ready to go out the door so he was in a hurry. I gave him the complete model number. He told me the part was going to be $415.18 and asked if I wanted it shipped by UPS. I asked for the part number because I wanted to make sure that he was selling me the correct part. He said that they do not give part numbers, and if I wanted to wait and buy later, they give reference numbers. I got the reference number and ended the call.
I found a tiny sticker on the part on my furnace, used a magnifying glass, wrote all the numbers down, and continued researching on the internet. Through this, I was able to, finally, figure out the part number. Then, I found it on many, many websites that sell HVAC parts the part I need with a price varying from $60.00-$170.00. Whatever he was trying to sell me was either the wrong part or a rip-off!

I even looked it up on their website, after finding part number, and it is $125.97 on their website! He was trying to rip me off. Thankfully, I did not purchase from them, but I am hoping this will keep anyone else from getting rip offed by this company.
Finally, I emailed them back and told them "Thanks so much for being so rude and not helping me.
Since, I did not give the full model number the first time you just ignore me. I will purchase from anywhere but you. I will be sure to let everyone know what a horrible company you are." I sent my email about 4:30PM CST, and by 5:42PM CST, they sent me an email back. Their response to my email "Your Welcome."

I could not believe how rude they are to their customers! And-it took them a little over an hour to respond to be rude, but deleted my email when I asked for help finding a part. Please, please, do not ever buy a part from this company. They will rip you off and treat you like dirt.

HVAC Parts Outlet

AUTHOR: E Morrissey - ()

POSTED: Monday, September 30, 2013

The HVAC parts industry can be confusing.  The gentleman submitted to us a part number from the original manufacture.  The manufacture of a furnace does not produce the motors, safety switches, gas valves, etc...for the furnace the sell.

The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) part number and the company, in this case "Fasco, are different.  The gentleman submitted the model number from a Trane furance.   Trane has its own part numbner and does, as all manufactures do, mark up the price and change the part number.  Fasco has it's own number for the same item and HVAC Parts Outlet has a great relationship with them.  If we are supplied the correct information we can offer a replaceement item, in fact the same item, at a much more reasonable price.

In this situation we quoted the Trane price and did not have a cross reference for the Fasco.  The gentleman did find the number on the motor as we had asked him to find it in order to offer a less expensive replacement.  Unfortunately, he was upset he didn't have the information available at the time he contacted us.  His frustration led to being upset with HVAC Parts Outlet.  He did in fact find the Fasco number on the motor and thus found the item much less than the quoted Trane item.   We did in fact HELP him save money by encouraing him to find the part number.
