In September 2011, I purchased my 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited in New Port Richey Florida.  When I was in with the finance guy we were talking about the warranty.  I added a tire warranty just in case I need it for anything, He had said it covered nails, pot holes, flats and anything else that can happen to a tire.

In March 2013 I started to notice one tire was balding in only one spot and metal cords were coming out of the side wall.  I called Hyundai Port Richey and they said I do not have the tire warranty.  They said even if I did have the tire warranty that wouldnt be covered.

I didnt have time to hold off and fight with them so I went ahead and purchased a new tire ($152.44).   I called Hyundai (Port Richey) a couple months after I got a new tire to get this warranty taken care of.  I was hung up on multiple times then I was told the Finance guy will call me back, But he never did. Then I called back and was Told there is no Rob that works there. I kept getting the run around everytime.

The beggining of June I started having problems with the rest of the tires(3 tires). Two tires are Balding in one area and one tire is fraying metal on the side wall.  I took it to hyundai (Wesley Chapel) and they said yes it is defective.  He said they are all defective but the balding is, on the line of defective and wear and tear.  The problem is, I have been fighting to get the warranty put on the car for a long time and would have taken care of the tires as soon as I had seen a problem.  I keep calling Hyundai and getting the run around that he will call me back.

I finally get a hold of Rob and he Finally said Yes I have the tire warranty and that I need to wait a couple days because he has to find the paperwork and enter it in the system. As I am waiting for him to do that I am riding on tires that are extremely dangerous to ride on.  Any minute all three tires can pop and cause a really bad accident and put my Fience and I lives on the line.  We ride interstate everyday which is very dangerous on these tires. I am not going to buy more tires out of my pocket when I am paying for a tire warranty that should cover that defect.

Do you have any of the paperwork regarding this tire warranty?  If so, who is it with?  If it is with a separate company, then call them and work it out and especially find out if you can use that warranty at another place instead of that dealer.  If the warranty is an "in house" warranty, then you are pretty much at their mercy.
