I E Rentals Scamming those in need of a place to live Ontario California

We are a property management company in the City of Ontario. We are writing to protect potential renters from these scandalous people known as I.E. Rentals. Our experience started with them just over a year ago. In that time, they have closed up shop in the middle of the night, and moved to their current location which we have listed.

We actually manage rental property for the property owners. I.E. Rentals is a rental agency. They gather rental information from property owners and management companies and compile a list. This list is then passed on to the public for a fee.

These people call our office and pretend to be the "public" asking for rental information and for units that we may have available. Then, they add it to their listings, and pass it along to their clients, which pay $180.00 for their services, which does not even include the running of their credit.

We have never worked with them, and have never voluntarily given them information as to what we have available. The only way that they have ever obtained information, has been through sneaky tactics.

We have heard so many horror stories from their clients. One time I had made an appointment to show property and about 20 people showed up.

Imagine my surprise because I thought that only one couple was coming.

I found out that all of these people were from I.E. Rentals. I told them that we do not do business with them, and that they all needed to go together back to their office and demand their money back.

Many times I go to show property and find that the clients who show up are from I.E. Rentals. We have called them a number of times, and have gone to their office 3 times to ask them not to use us, or any of the properties we manage in their advertising. To no avail. It continues.

The worst cases are from folks who have bad credit, and have given this large chunk of money to I.E. Rentals, only to have been promised that they would get them a place. It is horrible to have to tell a crying single mother of 3 that there is nothing we can do for her, even after I.E. Rentals has told her we would approve her.

The absolute worst experience we have had with them has been the fact that they told someone that they were approved, and that they could show up at the property they wanted, and we would be there to let them in and that they could move in. Those poor people showed up with a loaded U-Haul, and called our office to find out when someone was going to be there to let them in. The property that they wanted had been rented to someone else for at least 3 months. I.E. Rentals had given them old rental information. Further, these people had never even seen a unit!

We have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, and have even contemplated picketing in front of their building because we feel so strongly against what they are doing. They still send clients, there is nothing we can do except to warn you at this time.
