OK you must read this.

I went to ICDC College back in 07 and I took there Graphic design/Web development class. The class was crap and so was the teacher.

the only thing that made enroll in this school was the fact that the would give you a COMPLEMENTARY HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA .I had to write a 2000 word bio and took a 4 hour test.

then just like  that I had a high school diploma from century  high school in santa monica

this is were I get screwed

After finally finishing the classes and receiving the certificate and HS diploma they sent me on my way.not helping me  much with finding a job, and when they found out that i owed them $120 on tuition they completely stop helping look for a job, and kept bugging for the money.so when I finally paid them and asked them assist me with finding a job they pointed me to a board with a bunch of jobs from Craig's list.

So now three years later
and self employed,  I decided to give school another try. only because I wanted to further develop my skills and become more familiar with whats new.......

But when I went to apply for an AA in computer science the admissions  person said that the HS diploma I had was not a accredited one... that the HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA that was given to was from a school that didn't meet the LAUSD standards and accrediting agency standards..!

and he also said that needed to take the GED test and that it would cost  me money !!!!!!!

its like ,are you f%$king serious ,this whole time I thought I had a real hs diploma from a real school...

and now i have to go  and take extra time and money...

I was never informed about this when i signed up.they did tell me that the certificate was not transferable credit because it was a trade school but the didn't say nothing about the hs diploma. except that it was real

matter of fact I remember them telling me that one of the reasons I should join was
that they were including real hs school diplomas with  there classes

so any ways, after leaving I went straight to the ICDC college and told them about this matter, and all they said was to write there HQ a letter and that was it.

I feel like I was tricked  into going to this  school, they used my eagerness to excel and desire  to grow up and become some thing to get me in.
I cant afford GED classes + the test

I owe the gov for the loan and I cant even get on the road to success because of ICDC's BULL s**t HS DIPLOMA.

just think ...when i was there it was a full house, mainly because the other places only gave you a GED but they were giving out hs diploma's.... I wonder how many people this happened to ..how many people were tricked with the whole this "HS diploma"  scam...

But either way I was never notified or ever given an option.

Give the student a break

AUTHOR: Nombre - ()

This student clearly lacks grammatical skills.  Fine.  The problem is that ICDC allegedly offered him or her a HS diploma when the student does not have the skills to earn one and the student was told he/she would receive a "real" HS diploma.

The fact that the student was given a HS "diploma" is troubling.  The fact that LAUSD doesn't recognize it is even more troubling.  ICDC has a responsibility to ensure that the student is properly advised and guided.

It is very unfair to expect a student without a degree (HS or college) to write a grammatically perfect complaint.  The fact that the complaint is so poorly written reflects more on the college than the student.  The college should be embarrassed to have given him a HS diploma and should take immediate action to remediate this unfortunate situation.

I do not see one word from the student or college that indicates he/she was given any kind of remedial coursework to make up for missing HS education or that the student was guided toward meeting the requirements to receive one.

Instead, we see that the student was admitted to college-level work without the required criteria to begin such study. He or she should never have been admitted to "college" without a HS diploma or GED in the first place.

This student is to be commended on trying to better him/herself and for seeking college as a route to achieve the academic success of his/her dreams.

Ripping the student to shreds for poor grammar does nothing to help the student.  It belittles a person doing the right thing - probably without a family history of college achievement - and given the advertsing I've seen for this college, probably did not understand the for-profit and unaccredited status of the college.

I hope the student will read this.  You are best off going to your local community college or state university.  If you don't have a GED, get one.  I understand you don't have the money but that's right now.  Pay your bill, learn your (very unfortunate) lesson, and come back to school.

Protect your credit rating by paying that bill.  It is one of the most important things you can do for yourself right now. You are on the right track.  You just picked the wrong school for you. Kudos for trying to better yourself.

You should EARN a high school diploma!

AUTHOR: Critiqula - ()

Judging by the quantity and type of grammatical errors in your statement, it is quite fitting that ICDC refused to issue you a high school diploma.

In the very first line of your review you said, "there" instead of 'their'. This is one of the most common mistakes from someone who lacks a basic understanding of the English language. Also, you wrote "excepted" and not "accepted"...among many other embarrassing mistakes. Thus, you really SHOULD go back and EARN a GED or HS diploma before attempting to blame someone else for your failures. I won't bother correcting your entire review because my computer would run out of ink.

You might want to use SPELL CHECK as a friendly co-conspirator, since you're willing to attend a place of 'higher' education where fraudulent diplomas are offered for the asking! Your bad.
