I purchased a set of orthotics from the Ideal Feet store in Albuquerque, NM.  One of the selling points that convinced me to pay the high price for the product was that they had a 'life-time' guarantee and exchange/replacement policy.

I had some difficulties with the inserts and exchanged them twice within the first 60 days.  I was told that if I continued to have difficulties I could exchange them any time.  I was also told that the last pair of inserts that I was given was intended to be a temperary softer insert that would allow my feet to become accustomed to the arch.

When I tried to return to the store after a few weeks, the Ideal Feet Store was closed!!

I found a phone number on the internet.  When I called the number, I received a message that the voice message box was full and to try again later.  I called the number again about two weeks later and received the same message.

I sent an email to the address I found on the business card that I received at the time of my purchase.  I have never received a reply. 

I found a phone number for an Ideal Feet store in Plano, Tx.  I called the number to determine how I could exchange my current temperary inserts.  I was told that if I came into the store in Plano, I could obtain an exchange. I also asked if there was a phone number that I could call to determine the status of the store in Albuquerque?  Would the store re-open?  Does Ideal Feet plan intend to open another store in New Mexico? 

When I called the number that I was given by the clerk in Plano, I received the same 'mailbox full' message.

This experience has reinforced the fact that a guarantee is only as good as the company that is giving it.
