The IKEA foam mattress and pillow top mattress pad that we bought were each 75 1/2" long, while they were advertised as being 79 1/2" long. Since both were the same size, it is very unlikely that they were accidentally made 4 too short. Because they were both exactly the same length, IKEA must have told their manufacturers to make them that size. Since the pillow top is intended to fit all IKEA queen mattresses, it is also reasonable to believe that all IKEA queen mattresses are all shorter than advertised. IKEA fitted queen sheets and mattress pads will thus not fit standard queen mattresses, as the latter are 80" long. Relatedly, IKEA mattresses will be too short for standard queen bedframes. In view of IKEA's essentially no-return return policy, a deceitful advertising claim may be the best way to deal with IKEA queen bedding products whose size has been misrepresented.

Just wondering, how long did you let the mattress air out when you opened it? It can take up to 2 weeks for them to fully expand. I have a foam mattress, a tempurpedic, and it took it about that long to expand all the way.
