Instant Checkmate, Checkmate, Instantcheckmate Fraudulent, unauthorized charge to credit card Internet

On November 23, 2013  I was checking my Visa statement online when I noted a charge of

$22.86 placed by-  Chkmate*instantcheckma 866-4905980 Nv .   I had never heard of this company so I contacted my bank who advised that this is a business that does background checks.  I had never placed any order with that company nor had I ever provided them with my credit card information, in fact I don’t recall being on their website.  I asked that the charge be contested and the agent transferred me to the Fraud Investigation Department who took my report.  In passing that second individual asked me whether I had placed a charge with Spokeo. She advised that there was a pending charge of $14.00 and some change that had been submitted by Spokeo.  I told her I never ordered any services from Spokeo, nor had I given them my credit card information.  I had been on their website in the last 10 days but at no time did I order any services or provide my credit card information.  So two different companies, somehow both placed charges against my credit card, without me providing any credit card information.  My card has now been cancelled and I await further action by my bank.
