I received an odd message in my inbox today, stating that I had activated my Intelicom Messaging account, and a how-to of how to sign into my private mailbox. The thing is, I had never even heard of this company.

I scrolled through the email and it had my home phone number as a "billing" number and said that unless I cancelled within 72 hours of signing up, I would be charged the monthly $14.95 fee that would be billed to my local phone bill. They did have a phone number to call for questions and of course I called right away.

When my call was picked up a woman asked me for my phone number. I explained my situation and asked her how they had gotten my email, phone number, name, and address. She said I had gone online and entered it. I DID NO SUCH THING. I was getting pretty upset at this point and asked her if they had a credit card. She said no. Then she said it was my phone company who would be billed. I asked her which phone company they had on file. She said she didn't have that information. I then asked her how they could bill my phone company without the information. She could not answer this, as she "didn't have that in front of her". This scam is huge, and if you google their name you will find the same instances of this occurence with other people. Also I posted the BBB information below.

DON'T DELETE THEIR EMAIL!!! CALL THEM TO CANCEL BEFORE YOU ARE CHARGED FEES!!! ASK THEM WHY THEY ARE SCAMMING AND ABOUT THEIR NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS.
