Intelius, Itelius charged my American Express for unauthorized monthly service Bellevue Washington

Intelius, a company whose Chairman is Bill Owens former Vice-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, uses credit card information it obtains when customers use its People Search service to automatically charge those customers $14.95 per month for a personal identity theft protection service.

Now that's ironic, isn't it? It happened to me.

The credit card companies are aware of the scam but still maitain Intelius as a merchant in good standing.

Could Intelius' politically-connected Chairman be the reason or is it simply a matter of economics or both?

Caveat Emptor when it comes to Intelius and their affilated companies including People Search, Privacy Matters, Adaptive Marketing, Vertrue Inc, Bargain Network, Coverdell, Lavalife, Memberworks Canada, MyChoiceMedical, NeverBlue Media and Simple Escapes.
