Business Association telemarketing scam. fraudulant charges for membership added to local phone bill via company called ESBI Carson City Nevada

I opened my companys phone bill today to see that it was about $60 higher than normal. I saw that after the itemization of Local and Long Distance there was a detail listed as: ESBI ETS. The charge noted against that was $59.90.

I looked at the page that detailed the ESBI ETS charges and it was for a monthly subscription service to a company called the Internet Business Association that we've never signed up for $29.95 a month. May and June were charged. Prior to these charges The Internet Business Association Telemarketeres have called our office several times to confirm our business address. They have NEVER asked us to join their organization nor ever mentioned a free for $29.95 a mos that would be charged on our Phone Bill.

On one of the many sales calls they told one of our Entry Level employees that they were from the Phone Company and they were calling to check on the quality of our phone service. They asked her to listen to fuzzy & inaudible recordings and prompted her to say "Yes" after the recording...even though she made it clear she couldn't understand the recording. Our employee even said to the sales person that she didn't feel comfortable taking this call and that the owner of our business should take it...the rep kept re-assuring her that she could manage the call.

Even as late as last week I've picked up the phone and had one of their Telemarketers tried to confirm our address. This was before I saw they were fraudulently charging us.

I called our local phone company Qwest to have the charges reversed. I also called IBA only to be yelled at by one of their telemarketers when I told them to never charge my company again for services I never ordered. Clearly her defensive and unprofessional tactics are a result of getting many angry phone calls about phone charges. I alerted her that we have already contacted our state's Attorney General, the NV Attorney General and our local CBS News Affiliate.

The Internet Business Association is a telemarketing sham...nothing more. Check your phone bill to make sure they are not charging your company these unagreed to fees.
