I am sole-proprietor/single person business. Today I received a call from a "representative" from Internet Yellow Pages asking me to confirm my listing with them so they could forward their bill. I stated in no uncertain terms that I never agreed to do any type of business with them, that I have no employees/associates that could have entered into an agreement either, and that I had better not receive any type of invoice! The "representative" then promptly hung up- on to greener pastures no doubt!
I looked them up and discovered a similar report on this site. Using the phone # provided here I called them back and demanded to be placed on their do not call list. The woman handling the call insisted that they wouldn't have called if there wasn't invoice which I know is an absolute falsehood. She did state I would place on their do not call list.
Hopefully the word gets out about this type of scam and that businesses of all sizes make sure their employees are aware of this despicable practice.

The 'whois' for their website has the owner hidden and addresses under 'domainbyproxy' with godaddy while the actual yellowpages website states the company's info and registered through network solutions.
Never a need to hide if you are a legit busines.
