J. K. Harris & Company Dishonest claims Vancouver Internet

We had an outstanding tax problem that my wife was wanting me to solve. She saw J.K. Harris television ads and suggested I contact them. I did so and an appointment was made locally.

On the day of the appoinment I presented myself at the address I was given, which was a large office building. The suite number turned out to be a vacant office with furniture in disaray with the J.K. Harris rep waiting for me in one of the empty offices. I felt uneasy right away.

The IRS claimed I owed many tens of thousands of dollars, but the J.K. Harris rep told me he could bring that total down to somewhere around 950.00, and told me that if we didn't hire assistance through him we might loose our home. His fee would be around 3,500.00 and was to be paid with a personal check in instalments that would be automatically withdrawn from our account.

As my wife and I were serious about settling this tax problem I agreed to sign up, but didn't have the checkbook with me. I told him we could meet again (he would be in the area the follwoing week) and I would give him the downpayment then.

After the meeting we felt good, finally something might be done about the tax issue and J.K. Harris told us a solution would be easy through their program of Offer and Compromise. I was a little concerned that they didn't want to discuss other ways of solving the problem, such as assistance with filing the back returns, etc. We thought they would act like a CPA assistance. But he pushed for the Offer in Compromise.

Well, not having the checkbook handy saved our necks! I returned home and just for fun looked on the internet to see how others felt about J.K. Harris, and found so many bad things it was unbelievable! I immediately called and cancelled any furture contacks with that company.

Although we weren't ripped off like so many people who have posted complaints about J.K. Harris, this site Ripp Off Report.com saved our skin! Thank you so very much!
We have sinced hired a CPA and are taking care of our problem the right way.
