JCU has a long history of covering up corrupt practices. Middle management is given all of the power and the upper management's job seems to be just to cover up their mistakes. When JCU came under fire for pushing corrupt policies without explaining the potential effects the Union was good to tell the staff. Worried that they would be caught out upper management labelled these emails detailing the truth as 'spam.' One thing to know: JCU NEVER tell the truth. Ever. Even if it means exposing their staff and students to serious harm. Investigations have shown that foreign talent scouts are paid heavily to accept students. It is rumored that you can donate to pass your degree, making JCU a glorified diploma mill. JCU also lie about their job placement. You will NOT get a job after your degree via any means at JCU unless you want a tutoring job I guess. It is very deceptive and students should be warned about this. JCU also have a reputation of covering up other misdemeanors like sexual assault, rape and bullying in the workplace. If you look like a potential whistleblower then you are ostracized and make to look like an idiot. They often pull the 'mental health' card on people who can whistleblow. In addition to add insult to injury they will promote the person that the whistleblower is complaining about to make the whistleblower look stupid. The best example of this is when the university promoted a rapist after being fully aware of their actions. The high staff turnover puts students at a disadvantage. Historically, students who have complained about academics have been threatened with disciplinary action even if the academic is to blame. Disgusting beaviour from a terribly corrupt institution. Their management needs a shakeup. For 1 million dollars a year the Vice-Chancellor Sandra Harding is by far one of the worst in the country.
