I ordered a piano bench from this company in January 2005, From the time I called I should have known something wasn't in sync. First of all whomever took the order could not tell me the difference between two benches listed on the website, nor did they want the item number when I ordered. They also didn't know what they're own shipping charges were. I did from the website and had to tell them. A couple of minutes later I get a call saying they didn't have the seat color I requested, and if I would accept another color. I agreed as I would recover it myself.

I went back to the website to get measurements for fabric and noticed at the top of the website it said in big bold letters "January only-free shipping on all piano benches". I thought it was strange as I was not offered this when I placed my order. I emailed them to make sure they would honor the free shipping. I was shocked by my first response from Aaron and several there after, a rude retail flunky that should not be handling customer on line requests. Aaron refused to honor the free shipping and preceded to tell me they were in business to make money and couldn't give everyone who asked for free shipping or they would be out of business. I repeated the advertisment to Aaron since he wasn't getting it, I soon realized this was false advertising.

I told Aaron (the idiot) that this was poor customer service and I intended to file a report with the better business bureau, his response was "go ahead"! I did just that and filed a compliant with the BBB, I know the file on Jim Laabs Music is growing. I just couldn't believe a business would treat people this way. I referred back to the ad on the website and printed out a copy for my records, rocket scientist (Aaron) soon after changed the website with specific dates on free shipping, making sure it related to the date after I placed my order.

Thankfully when I called my bank they refunded the shipping charges back to me, clearly being able to see this companies practices are fraudulant. Thank goodness my bank practices good customer service. As far as Aaron is concerned, he should be fired. After reading other rip off reports on this company I can see this is normal practice to treat customers like dirt. I doubt they will be in business for long if they keep this up. I will be sure to check rip off reports before dealing with unknown businesses, in or out of my state. What an eye opener, I hope this helps all the consumers out there. Read the negative comments on Jim Laabs, it's all true.
