K Hovnanian KHOV!!! DO NO SIGN!!! Aldie, Virginia

We signed our contract in March provided EMD and money for interior design all of which says after this is all complete along with a permit to build (which they have!) states in the contract under reasonable time to begin construction! We were told a July delivery so we renewed our lease to August...

It is now June and we are being told that not only will the house not be delivered by July it MIGHT be delivered by October as they have not even started building! Their reasoning "We have other projects we have to build and we are trying to sell more homes prior to building your site"

We cannot do a month to to month in rent as it would cost more than a mortgage so we asked our sales rep to contact their management team to see if they could work with us. Their response again "Management will defer to the contract. They will not offer any compensation toward rent and they will not refund your earnest money deposit."

I am absolutely positively pissed off they have horrible customer service, we have been getting the run around for months now and all we get back is "We have 240 days to build."  My concern is that not only can they not get their head out of their behinds to coordinate with their building manager to figure out a date of delivery (or even to start at this point) but THEY ARE HAVING TROUBLE SELLING! 

We are seriously considering walking away from over 5 grand because of this... I cannot wait until October when they say "it might be delivered" for them to tell us "there is a delay due to inclement weather"

We are not waiting for 2 years for them to build... I would rather forfeit the money and make a youtube video of how much they suck to warn others. Just check their reviews online and you can see for yourself... I guess next time I will SERIOUSLY consider reviews from all states as they apply to more than one!
