I called myself comparing 800 number services for my business. I wanted to find something cheap and professional, because I wasn't planning to use it often. I chose Kall8 because they ADVERTISE that you can get a number for $2/Month. Have you ever heard the term, "If it sounds too good to be true, then, it probably is?" Well, this statement couldn't be more on point in reference to Kall8.

I had my 800 number less than a month and I set it up to go to voice mail only. I hadn't posted the number yet, so no one had it or called it, except for those 4 or 5 calls I made to it, setting it up and testing it.

Anyhow, low and behold, I get a $27 charge to my Paypal debit card. (This is the reason they don't allow you to pay by signing in to Paypal. They want your banking information.) I called them, thinking, like most of us, that I would talk to a friendly associate who would offer me some justifiable reason that I may have missed or call it an error, refund my money and we'd continue on. Boy was I wrong!

The first time I called, someone picked up the phone and hung it up. I called back and some guy answered. He sounded tired and like he was watching TV. I told him the problem and this girl was 13 shades of rude. He told me that they charged me $25 for automated reports. Automated reports? I never signed up for that and it's not in the fine print. I explained that to him and his attitude was 'Oh well.' He just took me through the site to the portion for detailed billing and explained to me that I had automated reports. He offered me no resolution, just an explanation and an attitude. So, I asked him to cancel the account and he told me, "You're in the account. You can cancel it." And proceeded to direct me to the cancel tab. What?! I never saw this in my life's history. Normally a legitimate company would try to find a way to deal with the complaint and here I am being given step by step instructions on how I can cancel.

I canceled the account and called Paypal and was disappointed to find out that the only thing I can do is file a dispute, which would cause them to have to close my card and resend me a new one in 3 weeks.

I decided, "Well, maybe that guy was just a disgruntled employee. Maybe if I call back and talk to a manager, I won't have to go to such lengths." So, I called their local number and the guy that answered sounded like the same guy, so I asked for the manager. He asked me what my 800 number was before transferring me. Afterwards, some guy answered, maybe it was him, I'm not sure, but it sounded like the same person.

This guy was ruder than rude gets. His attitude was so 'matter-of-factly' and he said, "Well, you already canceled your account, so we're going to process that. As far as for the charge, you had to go and sign up for automated reports and that's what you're charged for. Beyond that, there is nothing I can do for you." I pleaded with him, telling him that I NEVER signed up for any automated reports. I haven't had much time to go through the account. I just set up my voice mail, tested it and that's it. His answer. "Well, I'm sorry. But, there's nothing I can do for you." He told me that because I'd given them my credit card information, I was authorizing them to charge my card. Yeah, but for only $2, plus any additional timing I may use. Not to make up charges. I told the guy that I was going to report this and dedicate my day to making sure they didn't do this to anyone else. He told me, "Well, have fun doing that."

And cancel my account? No. I will more than likely have to cancel my Paypal card and wait 3 weeks to get a new one.

Their site looks like they are a professional company, but these are people probably operating from someone's living room. They are horrible, their customer service is horrible and even if they make a mistake, they will not refund you or go that extra mile to make sure that you're happy.
