I purchased KaZaa Plus on April 1st, 05 for $29.95 per year. When I downloaded the program, the program makes my computer freeze. I e-mailed the tech support (because they don't have a landline number to call) with the problem. They e-mailed me back pretty quickly; telling me to uninstall the program and re-install it again. So I did.

After I finish installing the program the 2nd time, the website would not let me re-registered it (or they call it: Re-Licensing), so I tried it 3X to re-registered the software, and would not let me. After the 3rd one, the website told me that I have install kazaa 3X and I need to contact the Tech Support to re-instate my registration number (or Re-Licensing number). So I did.

They NEVER write back to me, so basicly they took my $29.95 for less then 1 day to use their software. And I'm not the only one, bellow is other customer having the same problem with KaZaa Plus (I found it on the internet also):

I need some help... I got this kazaa plus and my computer got full of threatening objects. Which my anti software's automatically got reed of. That's how I lost my kazaa software and had to re licence it.

Then I lost it again and with 2 re licensing to go I contact kazaa costumer service twice, waited for 2 weeks and never got an answer. -om


If you can help me, please do so, I am very angry at this moment at KaZaa... and they DO NOT have phone number to contact, besides they have ONLY on-line customer support.

There are 2 versions of the Kazaa software. The free version is AD supported so you will get some pop-up AD's. Kazaa also has a version that you pay for so you do not get the pop up AD's.

I'm afraid you were duped out of your $29.95 -

Kazaa is a *FREE* file sharing application, which you can find for download at http://kazaa.com.

Unfortunately, this is a very common practice to rebrand and distribute to people at a cost, otherwise free software - try googling for "Kazaa scam" and you'll see what I mean.

On another note, get ahold of your credit card company ASAP, the sooner the better! Tell them your situation, that you were scammed, given something totally non working, and that you demand the charge be reversed. Be persistent, do not give up. You'll get your money back *if you act quickly*

And finally, a bit unrelated, Kazaa used to be a good filesharing network, but its usefulness has fallen over the past few months. I suggest you try downloading software such as Shareaza, KCEasy, Limewire, programs like these that are LEGITIMATE and completely free.

There is ****NO**** legitimate filesharing program that you must pay for. Remember this!
