King Locksmith & Keys Charged Much More than Competitors and Much More Than Expecting from Making Appt Plano, Texas Internet

I called King Locksmith to have a key made for a truck that doesn't have a chip in the key. Their website says $115 for a new key to be made, but they told me our model vehicle starts at $125. They told me it could possibly be a little more. They told me they could get to us in 15 to 20 minutes.

I called a large local competitor locksmith company. They told me they could do it for $125 and that was a total cost and would not vary but they would be an hour and a half to get there.

I then called our AAA and found out that they could offer a $60 contribution toward their locksmith company, bringing their cost down to just under the $125.

Because of the timing of getting there in 15 to 20 minutes, we decided to go with King.  When they got there they charged $185 and didn't make it in 15 to 20 minutes. I called and spoke with them. They told me they try for the 15-20 minutes. Since they were close to that timing, that wasn't too much of a problem. The problem, however, was a $185 charge. I spoke with their manager about this. They said that $125 was the beginning amount.

I told them that I had been told their might be a little extra charge depending on circumstances. I told them $60 extra dollars was not a little bit. I told them that they needed to remove $115 as the charge posted on their website for a new key considering that when we called it was already $125 because of the kind of car we had (even though their was no chip or programming to be be done). They were totally unwilling to help in any way.

Without a doubt, I feel I was "baited" by their website and phone representative and then charged much, much more! I would never do business with this company!!
