Search mini split air conditioner on the internet and the first dozen hits will direct you Kingersons. They have a great website and boast the best prices anywhere. They stock brand new inventory in 4 warehouses across the US and they stand behind their products. They are BBB rated A+. Their mini split systems are so easy to install a homeowner would only have to pay an a/c company to vaccum the lines and presurize the system. This would only take an hour or two or cost about $100.00!

After making a $4,500.00 purchase I learned....

The new system I purchased in 2013 had been discontinued in 2011.

Anyone can purchase a BBB rating. The only way to use the BBB to get information about a company is to read the complaints posted.

Mini Split heat pump systems are simple to install. A heating and air company must be used to make final connections from the base unit to the heads,vacuum the lines, pressurize the system and check for leaks and this process took my installer 5 hours to accomplish and cost $375.00

Following the installation directions on the website voided my manufacturers warranty. What the website doesn't say is that the warranty card asks what percentage of the install was performed by the a/c company and if this isn't 100% you have no manufacturers warranty.

When the system fails after 23 days of service you call the a/c company and they call tech support and you learn you have no warranty because the system was not installed 100% by the a/c company. Most customers would do as I did and call Kingersons. Nathan was pleasant and asked me to provide a copy of the installers bill and fill out a service request. I faxed both and when there was no response I called in and spoke with Joshua. In my 50 years on this planet I have never experienced such poor service! He talked over me and hung up the phone on me. He was rude in every email. He told me I self installed my own system and did not hire professionals to perform the steps outlined on the website even when the receipt with he contractors name, address, business Licence info and phone number along with description of work performed had been provided.

Unwilling to be berated, talked over and hung up on I appealed to the company by called the 4 phone numbers and emailing everyone from sales to customer asking for anyone other than Joshua respond to discuss the issue. When no one else would respond I discovered that no matter what phone number I called or email I sent would only be answered by this rude bully! T

Temperatures were in excess of 95 degrees and I was forced to repair the system so I spent $ 1,100 on the first attempt and $200 on the second and as soon as one part was replaced another failed.It was clear that the compressor or outdoor unit was non repairable so I decided to buy a new outdoor unit from a reputable company. Unfortunately, since the system had been phased out in 2011 buying a new outdoor unit that could communicate with the indoor units was impossible. 

I was beyond angry and decided to un install the defective system and drive it down to the California warehouse and confront Joshua personally. This is when I discovered there were no addresses for any warehouses. I searched property records, tax records and the only physical address I could find for this company was a registered agent in a residential neighborhood in Florida.

i am now almost 7k in debt on a defective system that only worked for 25 days in total!

I am buying my new system elsewhere. Perhaps you should save yourself the above steps and buy from an actual company with a physical address where you can return defective products. You definately want to avoid the dealing with rude, hot head Joshua!
