Sign-up in June 08 - was told to come in and meet a trainer that would be my trainer until my membership ended. Of course if he leaves the company I would be given someone else. Was told that this trainer would work with me and record my progress. I showed up no trainer, came back again and no trainer. Then I was told I could see this one trainer but he isn;t taking on new customers, it would be a one time only, no personalized attention. Very disappointed, was billed promptly and paid, to date, August 08, no services offered. Dan at that location, insisted he called my cell, he could check my records, no calls. Then I called LA FITNESS in Irvine, CA, they cancelled my contract, but since five days had passed since I was suppose to tell them, I got charged AGAIN, BUT TO DATE NO SERVICE. This is a definite NO PERFORMANCE ISSUE.
DO NOT JOIN. PLEASE

HORRIBLE AWFUL DESPICABLE COMPANY-BODY OF CHANGE-BODY OF THIEVES

AUTHOR: Douglas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 29, 2008

INSIDE INFORMATION ABOUT RIP OFF BODY OF CHANGE !!!!

1. They use sales people to sell training. About 60-70% of their sales
people are NOT certified personal trainers (They call them "Managers" and
"Assistant Managers").

2. The prices per HALF-HOUR session range anywhere from $29 to $59 per half
hour session. That's $58 to $118 PER HOUR !!!

3. They pay the trainers ONLY $6.00 PER SESSION !!!!!!!!!!

That's paying $12.00 PER HOUR for a Certified Personal Trainer !!!!!!!!

Before you sign, ASK HOW MUCH the trainer makes from the 30 min. session. They give NO raises ever. NO BENEFITS even if you work 60 hours per week. NO HEALTH INSURANCE. NO NOTHING.

4. They have ridiculous turnover, I worked as a trainer for almost 19 months and saw around 45-50 different trainers come and go. No exaggeration necessary. Prepare to have multiple trainers if you sign a 6 month or 1 year contract.

TOO BAD if you like a certain trainers' personality or style. NOBODY who's a good trainer stays for very long unless they are able to make money by training people on the side for CASH, which many trainers do.

5. The CONTRACTS are IRONCLAD, virtually impossible to get out of. And your
sessions EXPIRE after a certain amount of time, I saw one customer lose 46
PAID FOR sessions because they expired.

I saw SO MANY people lose motivation after being bounced around from trainer to trainer, and you know what??? YOU STILL PAY THAT MONTHLY FEE even if you get tired or fed up of training with a different trainer every other day !!!

6. They stretch and bend and manipulate the truth to get you to sign a
contract, be careful.

7. ASK them to see their certifications, ASK them how long each trainer has
worked there, and ASK them how much money the trainer gets from YOUR payments to Body Of Change.

8. AND FINALLY, MANY of the trainers there are YOUNG and OVER ZEALOUS
resulting in intense workouts that cause EXTREME soreness and discomfort to
people who are out of shape.

Many trainers push people TOO HARD when they are inexperienced, causing severe muscle soreness that can last for a week or more. Be warned if you are just starting a program, DO NOT let them injure you.

LOW PAID TRAINERS WITHOUT EXPERIENCE are famous for overtraining beginners and causing all kinds of pain.
