I brought my RV in for service and was told what the repair was going to entail. I felt that the problem was misdiagnosed but they insisted that they knew what the problem was so I agreed to the repair. I got the RV back home and found that I still had the same problem. I brought it back to have them correct it and they said they found another issue so I paid for another repair. Brought the RV back home again, problem still not fixed. Brought it back AGAIN and after being there for almost 2 months they told me that they don't know what's wrong with it. The service department is incompetent and the customer service is absolutely horrible. This story is very condensed from how it all played out, but was the worst experience I've ever had, and I'm out about $700 and still have the same problem with my motorhome.

Description of problem

I totally agree that some problems are hard to diagnose, I'm a pretty handy guy and can usually figure things out but when I can't, I rely on the professionals. The problem is that I have a bad connection somewhere between the starting battery and the starter. To start my motorhome, I usually have to hit the auxillary switch to engage the house battery which will enable me to start the engine. I followed all the cables, cleaned them, but can't find the issue. The problem may be in the box where all the wires seem to meet that's located inside the engine compartment but it's very hard to get to and there's alot going on in there which is why I decided to take it to someone that knows what they're doing. The first attempt by La Mesa involved replacing the starter. I told them I didn't think it was the starter because once I hit my aux switch to get power, it started fine. They insisted that the starter was damaged and that would fix the problem so I agreed to let them do it. When that didn't fix the problem and I brought it back, they said that they found a melted wire in the dash, so I paid for them to replace it. That still didn't do it so I brought it back again. That's when it sat there for close to 2 months. When I contacted the service manager to say that if they can't figure it out that I'll take it somewhere else, he told me to come pick it up.
The problem shouldn't be that hard to isolate. Like I said, I checked all the cables that I could so someone that is qualified to use a voltmeter should be able to pin the problem down relatively quickly I would think.

Mike Can you explain in some detail of what your Troubles are ? Tell me what kind of RV you have and explain to me what troubles you are having. Trust me I know how hard it is to find a qualified RV mechanic that really knows what they are doing. It is not an easy task by no means.
