Law office of Brett Margolin, P.C Associates of Brett Margolin law office Scammed, took over $2000 from me and my family and didn't do what was promised. Hauppauge, New York

I hired this company to help me get a loan modification with my mortgage company after struggling with the bank to do it myself. Not knowing that this company already had mulitple complaints. I paid this company over $2000 to help me over eight months ago. First thing I was told by this company was that if I continued to make my mortgage payments, because at the time I was only behind 2 payments, that I would be denied a loan modification. Me being a first time, young, home buyer I listened. At first everything seemed to be going good, but then I started getting foreclosure letters from my lender which was frightening. When I would ask about this the law office would always say "I promise you are not going to lose your home thats what we are here to prevent". Then I had to start going to court to try to save my home (alone after paying a company to help me), this went on for a while because the banks lawyers couldn't seem to get all the paperwork needed to continue with the proceedings. After the third time of me going to court, I call the law office to find out what is going on and no answer for weeks. After about three weeks of this there is finally a voicemail stating that due to federal law they are having to move their office and could only be reached by fax and email. Ifaxed several letters, sent several emails and nothing. When I finally started sending faxes and emails stating I wanted my money back and that I was going to file multiple complaints against this company I finally get an email stating that they are still working on my file and all is going as planned. BS. Another 3 to 4 weeks went by with yet again nothing from the law office, meanwhile I am working with my lender and doing everything in my power to save my home from foreclosure. Recently I sent yet another email stating how upset and stressed I am that they didn't do anything for me and got an email back from the law office stating that they stopped foreclosure proceedings four times for me, again the only reason it was postponed was because the banks lawyers didnot have all the paperwork need to continue, and that they legally could charge me for all four of those times and that they are closing my case, I will not receive a refund and if that I continue to try to "SCAM" them he would hold me liable for everything. I find it kind of funny that they used the bolded, capitalized word "SCAM" considering that if you google their firm 9 out of 10 sites that come up are scams and rip offs that this company has done to people. I feel like me working with my lender I will get my modification to save my home but I will have to pay outstanding cost which I don't have because I paid the biggest rip off company ever to help me over 8 months ago with no outcome what so ever.
