LCA Collections Billed for services not received ordered by a Dr Clients had never been to. Burlington North Carolina

Today I had a couple, that have been customers of mine for years, stop in and ask me to make them a copy of a bill they had received. This is the 3rd one they had received in as many months.

They had never been to the Dr that was listed on the billing as having ordered the lab work. The patients name was the same as the husband with the middle initial of L which is not his. The address on the bill was my customers address. It would be interesting to know how they got all this information when these folks had never gone to this Dr and have not had any lab work done recently.

As they conveyed their story, I begin thinking it was some kind of scam, as there are so many now days. I decided to look the company up on the computer to see if I could tell if it was a legitimate company. It was here that I saw many complaints had been made of this company.

I told them that it looked like the Dr would have to contact LAC Collections and make the correction. They said they had gone to the Dr's office upon receiving the first notice and they said they would take care of it. If the Dr had notified LAC Collections, it seems to have been ignored.

I decided to place this complaint for my customers since they don't have a computer.
