I started an Internet company in 1998. Right away I got an attorney and established a Corporation.

During production of my Web Site I contacted a company that uses Leasecomm so I could start accepting credit cards on my site.

My lease agreement for the Credit Card Processing Terminal was for 12 months. They automatically withdrew the payments from my company's bank account.

After my lease was over I thought that was it and I would never hear from them again.

Not true... Within a couple of months they sent me a letter saying I owed them $1300 because I did not send my Credit Card Machine back or didn't pay the nominal fee to buy the Machine outright.

When the gal called me I said that I was told when I got the Machine that when my lease payments were up I did not have any other obligations and the Machine was mine.

I went on to let her know that I never used the machine anyway so I would send it back. She became very snotty and said that they would not agree to anything and don't send the machine back and now I owed for another years lease.

First of all, the machine was barely worth $100! They claim that is worth approximately $700 and I ended up paying over $1200 for the lease. Now, they wanted $1300 + more from me?

Soon after that I got a letter saying that I needed to appear in court in Massachutes.

I didn't understand why they were going after me personally since I purchased the Machine under the Corporations name.

At that time I had little money since I was running a business and it was self-funded so I did not appear.

Soon after, they filed a junction against me personally first in MA then in Iowa where I live. Since this did not get they anywhere after 6 months or so they tried to drain all of my bank accounts.

By then I had closed by business and I no longer had any business accounts with that bank. Get theis...the only bank account that was there was my DAUGHTERS savings account that she had opened up not long before that only had $25 or so in it. Yes, they took the money!

Now they have hired an attorney in Iowa and they want me to appear at a debtors examination. Their first attempt they served me on a Friday and tried to say that I needed to show up the following Thur.

filed a motion to postpone to give me time to seek representation and now my hearing is set for the 20th of this month.

er reading this site I will not give them any information. Their attorney says that they would settle, but I don't want to give them a dime!! I will call our Attorney General here and Iowa and also file a report in MA.

Thanks to all of you that have reported. My attorney is going to have a hay day with this!
