Legacy Long Distance This company intercepts and pretends to be other LD Companies. Cypress California

December 18th I had the unforunate circumstance of having to look for and use a public telephone. I dialed the toll-free number for my local telephone company because I knew their rates/fees. I heard the fimiliar greetings and voice prompts, I entered my credit card info.

My first call lasted approximately 4 minutes. I pressed the '*' key made another call that lasted almost 5 minutes. Repeated the '*' key and made repeat call to the first number i dialed, call last less then 2 minutes.

On Dec. 22nd I looked at my credit card bill. Three charges from LEGACY LD *TO800-6 $59.90 each. I called the customer service number of the company that I had used and asked about these charges. They had no record of my calls or even record of access from the telephone I used. The phone I used was very obviously signed: 'owned and operatered by QWEST, Inc. Long distance services provided by QWEST, Inc.'

So BEWARE even though you may dial your favorite Long distance access number you may not actually be using them. it even seems to be that this company also goes around frauduently slamming other payphone owners. Such as the I used that was plainly marked QWEST. i reported this to QWEST, i was told they knew about it already in fact they told me it happens to roughly to 150-200 of their payphones each month.

Please write to your states utility commision and the FCC compliant department about this company. The actions taken by this company violate several federal laws.

I plan doing everything I can as consumer to make these sure this company gets just what they deserve...arrested and put out of business.
