Legal Helpers Macey and Aleman Fees Don't Match What They Do, Internet

I ended up going to a couple of 'free' consultations with this firm. The first time, I had an appointment scheduled for 3:30. At 4:15, there were still 3 ahead of me waiting to meet with the attorney. She stepped out to state that it would be about a 30 minute wait per person. I rescheduled for a week later. When I went in for my consultation, the fee jumped from the $1299 I had been quoted over the phone plus a $1450 legal fee PLUS a $375 'due diligence' fee that they charge. Needless to say, the lawyer didn't get to finish her sales presentation.

I went with another lawyer who is only charging me $1300. Of course, the $299 filing fee is extra - but that would have been extra with legalhelpers as well (that one is charged by the court). The lawyer started working on my petition before she was even paid off, and gave me a chance to look it over and make sure everything was accurate. When I got her paid off, she filed electronically while I was still in the office, and I walked out with my filing number. Don't put up with the nonsense Legalhelpers puts you through. Get a competant bankruptcy attorney and make sure it gets done right the first time.
