Not sure I have enough room to tell whole story:

Been fighting with this company since May 29,2010. I searched for a Hayward pool pump valve for my pool. I put in my Hayward pump model number and was taken to the valve that appeared online to look like the one on the filter system. I ordered it, we receive it, and it does not fit. It is late saturday afternoon so my husband and I have to run to the local pool supplier in our small town took the valve in there thinking we did something wrong and he looked at it and said it was a knock off, it was not a Hayward and that is why it does not fit the inner parts of the filter piping. We had to buy from him which was way more expensive then if we would have had time to shop around at larger city 30 minutes away but it was too late to make it there by close. So I call Leisure Living and press the option to get a Return Authorization number, I was literally on hold for 25 minutes and finally hung up, called back couple hours later, same thing on hold for another 25 minutes, hung up, called back and pushed option for sales/customer service, guess what answered immediately only to tell me I have to talk to other department put me on hold again for 34 minutes someone finally answered gave me an RMA#, shipped back fed ex they received June 14th, this is July 12 still no refund. called and filed complaint with paypal only to be told by them they will nto help me because I received the product. So now called again on hold 27 min to be told it is being processed and I have to pay a 20% restock fee and the shipping costs when what they sold me was not the brand they claimed it to be! Do not order from this company, they will not stand behind the product and will not refund your money. Next stop credit card company to reverse charge hopefully that works!

Returned item 45 days ago and still no refund!

AUTHOR: proudmilitarymom - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, July 16, 2010

Ronny G,

Thank you for the clarifications. You are correct that 80% is better than nothing if this company would in fact return the 80%! They received the product back on June 14th and I have yet to receive a refund of any kind. The customer service is very poor. To even get to speak to a person regarding a return is nearly impossible. They make sure you sit on hold for 30 minutes to get to that department, presumably hoping that you will just hang up and not hold that long. Then when you do get to talk to a person they cannot answer your questions or make a decision you have to get a call back, which never happens. I have been told 3 different times someone will have to call me back and I have yet to receive a return phone call or a refund! So regardless of my possibly not reading the fine print and getting a knock off part that did not work, I did return the item within 10 days of purchase and now almost 45 days after they received their item back I still do not have a refund. I do believe that is unacceptable regardless of why it was returned!

What was stated in the ad has the brand of the part?

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (USA)

I assume you ordered this from eBay. Now chances are you are over the 45 day max to lodge a dispute but in some cases paypal will investigate if there are more then one complaint against the seller, and will reverse charges after the 45 days.

The important thing is what was stated in the ad. Often when you go to a website and enter a part number, replacement parts come up which are lower in price then the brand name but should fit. And sometimes they don't fit, and/or are made poorly.

You state in the report "I searched for a Hayward pool pump valve for my pool. I put in my Hayward pump model number and was taken to the valve that appeared online to look like the one on the filter system."

Often, even with auto parts as well that a stock photo is used and may not even be the actual part you receive. However, did the ad or website state anywhere in text that this was an authentic Hayward product? If so, then you may still have a case. If not, then you just have to keep dealing with the company and pay the restocking fee even though the part did not fit if this is their policy. Unless it is stated somewhere on their website or ebay they they offer a 100% refund for any reason. Sometimes policies do not favor the buyer and the buyer missed it before ordering, or did not read the feedback and comments however, getting 80% back is better then nothing.
