Beware of Lendingtree.com! It affected my credit report negatively. I decided that I had good enough credit to shop for a low interest home equity loan through lendingtree and they did deliver many lenders willing to bid for my buisness.
However, what they failed to tell me is that my credit report was run countless times during and after I selected the best bank with the best rate for me. Low and behold it came back to haunt me when buying a car ect. My credit report has NO deliquencies, No late payments ever, perfect except for the amount of times my report has been run by creditors. I work so hard to always be diligent about my mortgage payments, since I bought my house 3years ago, Never, have I been late with a payment.
Now, I fell for a gimick that has probally cost me more then it saved me. My credit score fell from 750 to 686. In a split second!! It's been years now with no change in my score reguardless of no more inquiries. Please watch out!!!!

I ALSO DEALT WITH LENDING TREE, AND WAS HAMMERED IN MY CREDIT REPORT, WITH MANY PHONE CALL'S AND INQUIRIES, ON MY CREDIT REPORT. I WAS TOLD BY LENDING TREE, THAT YOU HAVE A TWO WEEK WINDOW, TO APPLY FOR LOANS. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE, FOR THEY ALL SHOWED UP. I STILL GET PHONE CALL'S A YEAR AFTER THE LOAN, AND HAVE PHONED LENDING TREE, TO COMPLAIN, AND ASKED TO BE REMOVED FROM THEIR RECORDS. THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED. UNLESS YOU CAN GET THEM TO REMOVE YOU FROM THEIR RECORD'S YOU WILL BE PHONED, SPAMED, AND IT WILL REMAIN ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT FOR YEARS. ALSO IT WON'T MATTER IF YOUR ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST, BECAUSE THE WILL CLAIM YOU ARE ACTIVE WITH THEM STILL. GOOD LUCK TO!
